14 Signs You're Addicted To Christmas

Christmas is called, "the most wonderful time of the year" for a reason. It's a time to remember all the great memories you have had all throughout the year, and to find a way to give back whether it be in a shiny box topped with a bow or not. You also can't forget about all the fun events, funny movies, delicious food, and warm winter apparel! OK, maybe I'm going a little overboard... I guess I'm slightly obsessed with Christmas and the general holiday season, so here are 14 signs you could be too!

1. Thanksgiving is cool, but let's be honest... you already have Christmas on your mind even before Thanksgiving day.

You may be a little guilty of not showing Thanksgiving any love, but we can't be blamed... Christmas requires major preparation!

2. You get overly excited when Starbucks releases their holiday drink menu.

There's something so festive about the delicious holiday drinks, and adorable red Starbucks cups! You know that once the red cups are out, the yummy drinks are too. caramel brûlée latte, gingerbread latte, toffee nut latte, and peppermint mocha — there's so much to be excited for!

3. You start to create a holiday playlist, even before December arrives.

Mariah Carey knows how to cheer up any holiday event... or, even when we're driving alone in our cars. A sincere apology goes out to anyone who has to witness our embaraassing dance moves.

4. You take serious pride in decorating your Christmas tree.

Coming up with an actual arrangement of where you're going to place each ornament is essential. We only have Christmas once a year, so we have to put all our effort into our Christmas tree!

5. You make a list of all the Christmas events you want to attend.

There are so many fun things to do during the holidays, and you are always up for attending all of them. The more the better!

6. You participate in as many Secret Santas as you can.

Being a secret santa is the closest thing one can do if they want to get a feel for what Santa has to experience every holiday season. The entire gift giving process is a fun way to exercise your creativity and thoughtfulness!

7. Ice-skating is always a must.

Does it matter if you're good or not?! Even if you're like Bambi on ice, ice skating is something that simply has to be done during the holiday season.

8. You pull out the christmas themed fuzzy socks, and slap on your onesie.

Wearing a onesie during the winter season is probably the most acceptable time to wear one... it keeps you warm, and it makes you look like you're ready for Christmas morning. #workit

9. You know the movie "Elf" word for word.

And the more you watch it, the more you can relate to Buddy's love for Christmas.

There's nothing better than the smell of freshly baked goods... and why not fill your home with the pleasant aroma of gingerbread cookies or yummy cupcakes.

11. You always know how to make an ugly Christmas sweater, not so ugly.

No one can rock an ugly sweater better than you. How? Because, you wear it with pride! #workit

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
