Everybody has a love for something, whether it is writing, reading or sports. No matter what it is you love, you hold a certain passion for it. Music is a common enjoyment for people, with some having more zeal for it than others. For many people, their lives revolve around it. It's an aspect of their life that helps form connections and build relationships with others. But, are you the obsessive, poster-on-wall, owns-every-piece-of-merch, been-to-every-concert music fanatic? Are you? Are you sure? Test it out then.

1. That pause that follows after someone asks what you're favorite band is.

It's like asking a mother to pick their favorite child (even though there's always one they like slightly more than the rest). It's easier just to be asked for a list of favorite bands.

2. Finding someone with your music taste is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

Soulmates? I think yes.

3. You find yourself often replaying that one song because you don't feel like you appreciated it enough.

Sometimes your mind wanders off and you're halfway through one of your favorite songs before you realize that it has been playing this entire time. Time to restart it.

4. Handing someone the AUX cord is a huge display of trust.

5. Rushing to the store when one of your favorite bands releases an album.

Must. Have.

6. Lyrics just casually get incorporated into your everyday speech.

Whoops?

7. Budgeting part of your paychecks to go toward concert tickets.

Or at least trying to. If you live in a city that bands often tour through, you may constantly find yourself scrambling for cash to purchase a concert ticket. That extra cushion of cash comes in handy.

8. The sadness that comes when you realize you can't afford the concert ticket.

It happens. Most of us are broke, let's be real.

9. It has the power to change your mood.

We all have bad days. Music feels like an escape and helps block out everything that's troubling you at the moment.

10. There is a wide range of music you listen to, but always that one genre you refused to even tolerate.

11. The word vomit that occurs when someone starts talking about your favorite band.

You try to stay calm and restrain yourself, but your undeniable love for them always manages to creep its way out.

12. Band tees. Oh the band tees.

Got a closet full of them.

13. When someone says that they don't really care for music.

'Nuff said.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
