The 12 Traits Of Every Tomboy Who's Also A Daddy's Girl

1. He would wake you up early.

Whether it be to go mushroom hunting or get up to go to work with him.

2. You would wrestle with him and your brothers.

And it didn’t stop until someone was bleeding or crying.

3. He started teaching you how to drive at much earlier than your sisters.

Your sisters started in their teens while you started at like 5 or 6 on his lap steering the wheel of his truck.

4. He gave you a nickname that could be a name for a boy.

Because the name him and your mom picked was too much of a girl name that he just had to adjust it a little.

5. You would watch sports with him and your brothers.

And sometimes you would cheer for the other team just because you wanted to show that you had balls even though you technically didn’t since you’re well a girl.

6. You did not cry in front of him unless you were bleeding or something was broken.

If you cried around him about anything else he would be completely confused and grumble something while he walked away.

7. You work your ass off, and don’t complain to him about it.

If you did complain to him about how much you worked, he would then tell you something along the line of “being an adult sucks”.

8. He taught you to be independent.

You and your mom relied on him so much throughout his life that he wanted to teach you that you are strong enough not to.

9. You loved getting dirty from rolling around in his truck.

Or just getting dirty in the mud.

10. You would always be bare foot going anywhere with him.

He was in too much of a rush to try and find a pair of shoes for you so you just went barefoot.

11. You always volunteered to play sports with your dad and brothers.

They always needed someone to even out the games so you always volunteered because let’s be honest, you wanted to play too.

12. There are way more pictures of you and your dad than you and anyone else in the family.

Your mom loved having pictures but it always seemed that your dad and you were always more than willing to take pictures together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
