12 Strange Food Combos You Have to Try

1. Ranch and Pizza

You can’t have a Little Caesar’s Cheese Pizza without ranch for dipping. My cousin told me this when we were little, and to my dismay I appeased her and tried it. To this day, I don’t eat a cheese pizza without some ranch to accompany it.

2. French Fries and a Chocolate Frosty

Wendy’s is home to the chocolate Frosty, a yummy ice-cream dessert that is somewhere in the consistency between a milk shake and soft serve ice cream. The saltiness of the french fry mixed with the sweetness of the chocolate seem like they are made to be together.

3. Pringles and Nutella

I’ll just go out on a limb here and say anything tastes good with Nutella on it, and it makes sense that the salty chip and chocolate complement one another. I’ve had chocolate covered Pringles before, but never with Nutella; seems like a good combo to me.

4. Celery and Peanut Butter

I used to have this all the time as a kid and it’s still one of my favorites. The celery is a refreshing addition to the dryness and salty peanut butter, not to mention it’s a healthier, protein-packed snack option.

5. Chocolate covered Bacon

I will confess I have never tried this but honestly, if it was put in front of me, I probably would try it. I saw it in a store in northern Michigan and while utterly repulsive I mean, it’s still bacon.

6. Strawberries and Balsamic Vinegar

There is a reason some restaurants have this on their dessert menu; it’s an amazing combo. Usually they place this sauce over vanilla ice cream and create a delicious mix. The next time you have the option to try this, take it. Your taste-buds will thank you.

7. Scrambled Eggs and Maple Syrup

This usually just happens accidentally to most breakfast lovers; your pancakes and eggs are on the same plate, and naturally the maple syrup gets everywhere. But it tastes just as good with the eggs as it does with the pancakes, especially with hash browns if they’re on your plate as well.

8. Chicken and Waffles

This is a product of the South and while I’ve never tried it, I suppose the concept could be appealing.

9. French Fries and Gravy (Poutine)

This one took some convincing to get me to try, but it’s actually amazing. This is a common dish in Canada and places like Vermont and even Detroit. There’s something about the spices of the gravy and the salty fries that just seem like they go together. Props if it has melted cheese on top too.

10. Apple Pie and Cheddar Cheese

I don’t know why but this is more American than the apple pie itself. Apple pie is already not the best for you, so you might as well go all in with the cheese added.

11. Melon and Salt

Watermelon is the best for this but cantaloupe works too; it’s that salty and sweet combo, with the refreshing juice from the melon taking care of the drying salt. I only do this when I feel like it is necessary and when the melon didn’t turn out to be a good one with a lot of flavor (so yes, I did this in the cafeteria quite a bit to mask how awful the melon actually was).

12. Vanilla Ice Cream and Vernors (A Boston Cooler)

This is strictly a Michigan take on the root beer float. If you don’t like Vernors, or you have no idea what it is, chances are you aren’t from Michigan. It’s okay, we’ll teach you.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
