If you have Italian blood in your veins, then you most likely know of the weekly feasts on Sunday evening. It’s the time to greet your family and eat amazing home-cooked meals! But in some cases, there are obstacles along the way that non-Italians just would not recognize.
1. “I’m Full” is not part of our vocabulary!
2. There are two types of pasta sauces: “Gravy” and “Gravy" -- there is no in-between.
3. Every Sunday is like Thanksgiving to an outsider. They don’t understand that, when it comes to those holiday dinners, Sundays were just training.
4. Let's not forget those wine-induced naps!
5. Language plays a huge part -- Sunday is the only day that we either don’t understand the Italian around us or speak it. It’s an English-free zone!
6. When the coffee and cake appears on the table, we know that’s just one less course until sandwiches, cold cuts and leftovers! Yum!
7. If there’s one fear we Italians have always had, it is bringing a guest to the table for the first time. Whether it is a boyfriend/girlfriend or a close friend, overwhelming them with food and shouting is always nerve-racking.
8. There is always that one piece of gossip an aunt has to share that gets the whole table shouting foreign profanities. Most of the time we can’t understand, but we know what’s being said.
9. When it’s time to go, we have to give everyone two kisses and a hug before walking out the door -- otherwise someone starts crying.

11. But when it's finally Sunday again, we never fail to get excited.
