It's safe to say that anyone who knows anything about college football knows the name Dabo Swinney. What most people may not know, is that along with being a great coach, he's also a great person. As a Clemson student, I am proud to be a part of the ever-growing Dabo fan club, and for the following reasons everyone else should be too.
1. He's, arguably, one of the best dancers the world has ever seen.
2. He knows how to throw a killer pizza party.
With 20,000 people in attendance and each one receiving a slice of pizza, Dabo sure knows how to show his fans a good time.
3. He isn't afraid to tell the world how he really feels about the Gamecocks.
"They ain't Alabama. They ain't LSU. And they're certainly not Clemson. That's why Carolina's in Chapel Hill and USC's in California and the university in this state always has been, always will be Clemson." Dabo Swinney.
4. He cares about making his players into better people, not just better players.
"We have three rules in our program that everyone must follow: 1) players must go to class; 2) they must give effort and 3) they must be good citizens. It's as simple as that." Dabo Swinney.
5. He gives back to the community.
He is the founder of the Dabo's All In Team Foundation, which has given $1.7 million to various organizations since it's creation. The All In Team Foundation supports many causes, some of which include breast cancer awareness, and helping those with special needs.
6. He always stays humble, despite massive success.
7. He's not ashamed of his beliefs.
“Everybody has the opportunity to grow if they want to, spiritually, but that’s a personal thing. As far as me personally, I am who I am. I don’t apologize for that.” Dabo Swinney.
8. He coined his own term: BYOG.
BYOG -- which stands for "bring your own guts" -- now appears on T-shirts, bumper stickers, and all kinds of merchandise.
9. He was awarded the Home Depot Coach of the Year Award.
Proving that his coaching skills are just as great as his dancing skills.
10. He keeps up with current trends, like hitting the dab to celebrate.
11. He knows how to say "Clemson" the right way.
“It's Clemson, with a little hint of a ‘P,’ kind of the invisible ‘P’.'" Dabo Swinney.
