12 Confessions of a Starbucks Barista
Starbucks

Many people seem to have a lot of questions about working at Starbucks, and I'll tell you one thing, the job is not easy. This list of gifs should thoroughly explain to you how we feel 99.9% of the time at work...

1. If I welcome you with a "Hi, how are you?" please don't be the person that pulls the "UHHH YEAH LET ME GET A GRANDE CARAMEL MACCHIATO." SIR I AM TRYING TO TALK TO YOU. ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION WITH ME.

2. Please don't stare at us when we're making your drinks, it is so uncomfortable for us as we try to focus. I think we all know the feeling of being uncomfortably stared it, IT AIN'T FUN. It's almost as if you're looking at us like this.

3. We know frappucinos are good, but they are every Barista's nightmare. We don't mind if you order a frappucino, really, but when you start ordering 10 DIFFERENT ONES, thats when we start to cry on the inside.

4. No, we don't spell your name wrong on purpose. I promise. Sometimes there is so much going on in the store and in our minds we don't hear you correctly. If I have ever butchered the spelling of your name, I am sorry.

5. If you're on the phone while ordering and completely ignore me, I might just ask you a few extra questions that aren't needed just because you're paying more attention to your phone.

6. For all the regulars that come in every day and are sweethearts, you're what makes the job all worth it. You guys really put a smile on our faces and we thank you.

7. Yes, we actually do not know the secret menu items. If we ask you for the recipe we really aren't trying to be rude, we genuinely do not know and we don't have most of them in the system.

8. The job really isn't easy. You have to be patient, strong-minded, and have a high tolerance for people. The amount of mean people we deal with in a day is unbelieveable. We really try our hardest to make our customers happy, but sometimes it is a very stressful job. Please bare with us. WE ARE JUST HUMAN BEINGS TRYNA MAKE SOME MONEY.

9. We try our hardest not to judge people's drinks, but sometimes it is so confusing. Like girl, why you getting a skinny caramel latte with an overwhelmingly large amount of caramel sauce all in the cup?

10. We aren't closed on any holiday of the year. If we're working on a holiday and its super busy, just please be friendly. Working on a holiday isn't fun but we do it for you guys! Because on holiday rushes, we basically feel like this...

11. It actually isn't as hard learning all the drinks as most people think it is. Personally for me, I was terrified about learning all the drinks. But, they all really branch off of each other and you learn them relatively fast considering how many different drinks there are.

12. Last but not least, we deal with what we go through because we love what we do, we love the majority of our customers, and we love our co-workers. We all sometimes have our days where we feel like quitting and crying, but at the end of the day, we thank you guys for making it worth it. You guys are the real MVP's.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
