For many college students, with a few weeks and a few (or a ton) of finals left, summer is within reach. Ahhh, I can almost feel the sweet summer breeze. However, some may be left with no bearing on what they're going to be doing this summer. Does this sound like you? Perfect! When making your summer itinerary, here are eleven components that will make your summer the most fun and rewarding.
1. Travel, travel, travel!
Near, far, wherever you are, travel to somewhere outside of your immediate town. It's no fun staying in one place all summer, so go to a different city, state, or even country! The new experiences you'll have will be one for the books.
2. Go to concerts
Summer is a haven for live performances. Do you see an artist coming to a town near you? Book a ticket. Nothing is better than listening to your favorite artist live with tons of other fans and an electric atmosphere.
3. Be productive
Of course summer isn't just about fun and games; we have a college life to return to after summer with real-life responsibilities! So when taking your summer break, make sure to research some opportunities related to your field of interest so you can set a good foundation for the upcoming academic year.
4. Take up a new hobby
It can be baking, or learning how to play a new instrument. You now have a long period of time that can go towards learning a new craft.
5. Relax a little!
You don't always have to be doing something cool or exciting! Sometimes taking some days off and chilling is the best way to reward yourself from your hard work at school and the things you've been doing during summer.
6. Try something new
Never kayaked? Try it. Never eaten something on a menu? Try it. Never done a particular activity because you're scared to? Try it.
7. Explore the outdoors
Being one with nature is especially serene in the summer. Go hiking, go to the lake, or go kayaking - the choices are endless.
8. Hang out with friends and family
This is the period you'll be able to hang out with your friends and family for a long duration of time so make the most out of it! When making plans, make sure to incorporate them.
9. Go to local attractions
If you're stuck in your hometown, go to local attractions or places that you can't go to when back at college.
10. Treat yo'self!
If you've been eyeing a particular gadget, jacket, or something else that provides you with satisfaction, stop hesitating and just buy it. Summer is about the only time of year us college students aren't thinking about what textbooks or incidental expenses we're going to incur.
11. Do something spontaneous
Of course, there is no advice that can be given when it comes to spontaneity. If you think of something to do out of the blue, just roll with it and see where you end up.
