Before we knew it, Thanksgiving is over and people are beginning preparation for Christmas. Along with the holiday season comes a long list of things to do. From Christmas shopping to holiday travels, it's not surprising that by the time winter is over, we discover things we forgot to do. To make sure you don't miss anything this winter season, here is a bucket list to follow:
1. Bake Christmas cookies
Whether they are sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies or your other favorite holiday treats, plan for an evening to bake and decorate all the treats. It's a great holiday gift people love and you have fun baking. Turn up the Christmas music and start dancing along as you make a special homemade treat for your friends and family!
2. Go ice skating
Trade your snow boots for ice skates and spend the day twirling around your favorite ice skating rink with your loved ones.
3. ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas
Don't forget to take some time to relax and enjoy your favorite Christmas movies! Thankfully, ABC Family (now Freeform) has you covered every day and night with all the classics, and the new ones that will leave you even more in the holiday than before!
4. Have a hot chocolate bar
Whether you are hosting a party or it's just for you and your family, set up a hot chocolate bar with cinnamon sticks, marshmallows, whip cream and all the other accessories!
5. Build a snowman
Layer on your coats and scarves and head outdoors to build a snowman. It's a timeless holiday tradition you don't want to forget about!
6. Drive around and look at Christmas lights
With Christmas light displays becoming bigger and better each year, every town has those few special houses/ neighborhoods that go all out. Grab a cup of hot chocolate and take time to walk around and experience the Christmas magic.
7. Buy a new pair of fuzzy socks/slippers
Every year, we buy them and every year we need a new pair. Make sure to grab a new pair (or two) of fuzzy socks to keep your feet nice and warm during the cold winter months!
8. Build a gingerbread house
Whether you're an expert like those on TV or simply just enjoy eating the candy, make sure to build a gingerbread house this winter season.
9. Make apple cider
Curl up with a blanket and some homemade apple cider while you watch the snow fall.
10. Light a fire and make s'mores
Light a fire and make s'mores while sharing Christmas stories with your friends and family. It's the perfect low-maintenance activity all your loved ones will enjoy!
The holiday season is a busy time for everyone! Don't forget to take time to do the things that make the holidays so special!
