10 Things You Know If You Went To Richard Montgomery High School
Davey Mann Segal

Richard Montgomery High School- my Alma Mater. While attending this fine establishment for four years, I have learned to love (and hate) most of what the school has given me. From homecomings to proms, open lunch and in-school suspension, here are 10 things you know if you went to RMHS-Go Rockets!

1. The IB Program.

During my time at RMHS I have seen multiple breakdowns, denial letters from Ivy Leagues, obscene amounts of homework, and a disheartening lack of social life with this magnet program. Shout out to all my friends and fellow classmates who graduated with their IB diploma!

2. Open Lunch.

While most students were forced to either pack their lunch from home or stuck in the cafeteria, we were allowed downtown to grab a bite to eat, pretty blessed!

3. Mr. RM.

The Annual Senior Male Beauty Pageant which was always a hit with the school!

4. BOMS.

Junior and Senior boys who dressed up and performed at the pep-rallies. For sure one of the more exciting events!

5. Wiz Khalifa’s Black And Yellow.

RM's anthem for sporting events. Plot twist- our colors are actually Black and Gold.

6. RM-Rockville Rivalry.

We will and will always be better than you, Rockville High School. Go Rockets!

7. RMBC

The infamous morning announcement show. Shout out to Eric Rodney for always doing an amazing job with it!

8. Black Maskers

The hardcore theater kids who always managed to put on an incredible show. From controversial topics to timeless musicals- there was always something magical happening behind the curtain.

9. Main Street

Chances are you and your clique of friends had a reserved spot to sit at before school started.

10. The Path

We’ll just leave it at that.

Well there you have it. 10 things you know if you went to Richard Montgomery High School! Let's just hope the next time you walk into school they don't make you change your clothes because you are distracting other students, or encourage you to take more IB/AP classes!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
