One of the best summer jobs is being a waitress or waiter. If we’re being honest, the hours don’t suck and neither does the money. As a college student I’ve found that this is the best way to come back to school with money for the whole year. However, if you are a server it becomes noticeable to people very quickly. You have a bunch of these quirks about you when you go out to eat. And at work, multiple quirks there too. If you work in the industry, or have worked, I can promise that this article is one you can relate to!

1. When you go out to eat you make it easy to clear for your server

Stacking up all your plates and moving everything down towards the end of the table or even handing your plates to your server, dead give aways.

2. You always tip 20% when you go out.

Because you can relate to not getting 20% on an emotional and spiritual level.

3. On any given night the chef can be your best friend or your worst enemy

Above you will see an accurate representation of a waitress after the kitchen messes up her table's food.

4. You have 2 voices

Your customer voice and your normal voice. And yes, probably 2 laughs as well.

5. You genuinely feel bad when you drink just water when you go out to eat

Even if you don't drink soda, or anything but water, you still order a soda just to raise your bill a little bit.

6. You start to learn everything about your regulars

From their children’s name to their social security number and their phone number.

7. You play noses for the late tables that no one wants

Because why would you want a table that walks in at 8:30 when you could actually be done and go home by 8:00?

8. When it’s someone’s birthday you run and hide so you don’t have to sing, “Happy Birthday”

Why would you ever want to be the center of attention and have everyone listen to your God awful singing voice? I always find a way out of it.

9. Carrying a tray of alcoholic beverages is the scariest thing known to man

We've all dropped a few drinks and spilt a few martinis. Happens to the best of us.

10. Your coworkers become your only friends because you’re with them 24/7

You all are basically best friends now and do everything and anything together. But hey, that's what makes an awesome team right??

At the end of the day, being a waitress or waiter is not the worst job ever. And yes, there are sure ways to be able to tell that you have this job, but who doesn't love a friendly people-person? We're the nicest group of people out there who complain about their jobs maybe a little more than we should.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
