1. The Squirrels.
No one ever believes the infatuation we have with squirrels on this campus. Seriously, I have an entire FB album dedicated to squirrel sightings and such around campus. (If it helps my case any, I was obsessed with squirrels prior to coming to Coe)
2. My friends that have become family.
I never imagined coming to Coe and connecting with so many awesome people so fast. I really appreciate having them in my life. Not seeing them for weeks is almost too much.
3. The many on-campus activities.
There's always something going on. I never sit in my room bored because of a lack of activities. I only sit in my room bored because I don't feel like being social.
4. The faculty and staff that care so much about me.
Some of them act like my second parents. Um, where else does this happen?! They know me well enough to offer tacos when I'm upset...
5. The close proximity of some of my favorite restaurants. ***HELLO LOST CUBAN***
Speaking of being upset, whenever I am extremely upset, I head over to the Lost Cuban. They have delicious and nutritious foods. I swear by the empanadas.
6. Seeing all of the smiling Kohawk faces.
We may not all be friends, but walking around campus you generally have that one person a semester you see every day. You don't personally know them, but you share a gentle smile and it makes your day better.
7. Joking in class with my classmates.
I've never been in a class where the professor doesn't appreciate our shared humor in being tortured.
8. Teasing professors in the middle of class.
As a matter of fact, yesterday a prof walked in while a group of my friends and I were talking about her. She joined in.
9. Catcalling my faves across the Quad.
When you really love someone, you don't mind looking an absolute fool for them. With that said, I will scream "Kyrrrrsshhaaa, Bad Ass Balderas" or "Grandma Janai" across the main quad. #noregrets
10. Working with the talented Kohawk family to make Coe an even better place.
My favorite line of my sorority's purpose is "To contribute to the world's work in the community where I am placed because of the joy of service thereby and the talent of leadership multiplied."
The amount of work that I collaborate with so many passionate people on campus with is astounding. So much for the careless, lazy millennial stereotype.
