10 Stages Of Seeing A Groundhog At Marist

As Marist students, we are happy that spring has arrived. Yes, it means warmer weather and that summer is coming, but there is something more important happening. The groundhogs are coming out.

1. First, you spot the hog.

2. Then you get all your friends to gather around and gaze upon the mushy little creature!

3. You all whip out your phones to take pictures.

4. Then it makes eye contact with you.

5. And it does that thing where it suddenly sits up on its hind legs.

6. It looks just too darn cute, so you try to slowly approach it.

7. But then it notices a noise, so you have to hide before it sees you.

8. If you're lucky enough, the hog will let you pet it, and you will feel so happy.

There is a fearless one by Gartland that will let you pet it.

9. However, most of them are not that brave, and they usually run away, leaving you sad.

10. Even though they may run away from you, there is still a campus full of smushy groundhogs.

There's one who lives behind our house. His name is Herbert.

The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
