Spring Dates

Winter is over! The weather is getting warmer and it's time to break out from being stuck inside and get yourself outdoors to enjoy the wonderful weather while it lasts. Here are the top 10 things you can do, by yourself, with friends or on a date, during this Spring season.

1. Go on a picnic.

What better way to enjoy the perfect weather than by grabbing some food and taking it outside to a park or a backyard.

2. Plant some flowers.

For most flowers you'll want to plant, springtime is the perfect time to plant them, and wait for them and watch them grow. Pick a few of your favorites and make your own little garden.

3. Have a barbecue.

What is better than going outside and smelling someone barbecuing? Well, actually getting to eat the food, of course! So get together a group of friends and fire up the grill.

4. Have a yard sale or go to a yard sale.

It is a great way to spend the day, and find things you need at a reduced price. It is also the perfect excuse to do some spring cleaning and get rid of some things that you don't need or want anymore, and get some cash out of it.

5. Go to a park.

Go act like a child again. Enjoy swinging on the swings and going down slides. It's time for a new start, go enjoy, have fun.

6. Star gaze.

The nights are a perfect temperature to either climb into the bed of a truck, or lie on the grass and look up at the stars.

7. Take a walk.

It's not too cold and it's not too hot. It's perfect weather to just randomly walk around. Go to a new town and be a tourist, or even try playing tourist in your own home town.

8. Go exploring.

Whether you go somewhere new, or stay in your own town, there is always something new to find. Go somewhere you've never been and just take a day and explore.

9. Mini golfing.

Mini Golfing is a fun experience, it's a lot faster and more fun than regular golfing.

10. Go to a garden, zoo or National Park.

Try going to a garden, zoo or National Park. The weather is perfect for this. You won't be freezing, and you won't be sweltering in the heat either. It's the best possible time to experience these opportunities.

Whatever it is you choose to do, just go out and enjoy the wonder of spring time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
