10 Songs Getting Me Through the Week

Vol. 3

1. Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better)

Artist: Felix Jaehn [feat. Jasmin Thompson]

A remix of the original song by Chaka Khan, which I love, Felix Jaehn and Jasmin Thompson rework it in the most soft and melodic way possible.

2. Issues

Artist: Dr. Dre [feat. Ice Cube, Anderson .Paak & Dem Jointz]

This is one of my favorite songs off of Dr. Dre's "Compton." I press replay on this one at least 4 times.

3. Melody

Artist: Oliver Helens

This little House number ropes you in with an anticipatory violin piece and then drops you into the beat with no further ado.

4. Waste Your Time

Artist: Arty [Clarence Coffee Jr.]

This one has me belting out the window every tim; Clarence Coffee Jr. has a voice that just kinda makes you want to sing, and sing loud.

5. Fiesta (Remix)

Artist: Bomba Estereo & Will Smith

Gym time for me when this one's on. I wanna dance, run on the treadmill and squat like there's no tomorrow. Add to the beat the rap stylings of Will Smith and you've got me set.

6. Damien

Artist: Modestep [feat. Funtcase]

This is some sinister sh*t. Honestly, I love me some Modestep and always have, so when they released a new album in 2015 with this song on it I about passed out. You want some evil, dirty beats? Bump this.

7. Hide Me Babe

Artist: Garrett Hedlund

I'm going Country on you again, because honestly its just necessary. This track is from the soundtrack to the movie Country Strong. I love Garrett Hedlund's voice; its deep and calming rhythm in this is like an adult rock-a-bye-baby.

8. Night Riders

Artist: Major Lazor [feat. Travi$ Scott, 2 Chainz, Pusha T & Mad Cobra]

I feel like such a badass when this track is on when I know I'm actually the complete and utter opposite. Walking through the gym feeling like a G.

9. Runaway

Artist: Aurora

If you don't know this artist you really have to; her album art alone makes you think of Narnia or some enchanted forest. Then her otherworldly voice comes in and just takes you to another world.

10. Crazy In Love (2014 Remix)

Artist: Beyonce [From the "Fifty Shades of Grey" Soundtrack

I read the book, I saw the movie and I love Beyonce. These three things combined make for a very happy Neda.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
