There comes a time in everyone's life where you are broker than broke and never buy and/or do anything for yourself. I know Christmas was just here a month ago, but still, chances are, you blew through those gift cards on things like groceries, shampoo, and some bobby pins, because I know I seem to lose them as soon as I buy them. If you are smart, you use those gift cards wisely and attempt to spread them out, but then you walk into Target and spend it all in one trip.

Now, weeks later, you find yourself broke once again, and it can be the saddest day of your life when you think you have $20 in your bank account but you really only have, like, two bucks. It sucks living paycheck to paycheck and never doing anything nice for yourself at all. Sometimes, you just need a little retail therapy, or you need to go get your nails done at the cheap place ten minutes away from campus. The reality of it all is that sometimes, you just need to treat yo' self. Here is a few reasons why you should.

1. You have not even gone to the mall in weeks because you have the fear that you might buy something that is more than one dollar.

2. If buying off the dollar menu at McDonald's gives you anxiety, you need to go ahead, go out, and get yourself a nice meal for once.

Olive Garden is my treat yo' self meal of choice.

3. Pink is having their "seven for $27" sale on underwear.

Clearly, you need to go invest in some, because who does not love new underwear?

4. You have not dyed your hair in months and your roots are starting to show hella bad.

5. If you got an A on a test you thought were going to get a F on, then you should most certainly treat yo' self to something nice.

6. You finally dumped that loser of a boyfriend all of your friends hated.

You should go buy yourself a new outfit or a new pair of shoes, or both; whatever floats your boat.

7. If classes get canceled due to Storm Jonas, then you should go treat yo' self to expensive hot chocolate at Starbucks.

Thank the lord you did not have chem class today. Even Storm Jonas wants you to treat yo' self.

8. You went a whole week without going off on someone at work.

That is a huge reason to treat yo' self.

9. If you had a bad day and not even a "One Tree Hill" marathon can cheer you up, then you need to drop everything you are doing at the moment and go treat yo' self.

10. Most importantly, because you are missing home like crazy.

Treat yo' self to something that reminds you of home, because your mom would want you to.

So, clearly, these are all fantastic reasons as to why you should treat yo' self. The question is, will you?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
