There's definitely more than 10.

10 reasons we need Uber in Pullman

Uber has become increasingly popular since it first started up back in 2009. People around the nation are choosing it over public and private transportation. What better place for it to be utilized than in a college town? While there's more than enough reasons of why we are all dying to have Uber in Pullman, here's ten:

For grocery shopping

Short trips

How annoying is it when you need to go to campus for something, but you’re crunched for time, or you’re only going to be there for a short amount of time? You can request an Uber right before you need to leave and more often than not, it arrives in time for you to get to your destination.

Party hopping

Scenario: You’ve heard of several parties tonight, but they aren’t within walking distance. Uber is great because it's cheap. Since everything in Pullman is in close vicinity, you could probably go anywhere for a good fare.

To avoid drinking and driving

NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE. This has been engraved in our brains since the beginning of time; well, not really but basically. Uber eliminates the hassle of finding a designated driver.

Because it's cheaper

Uber is virtually cheaper compared to other transportation services and friendly to the college student budget that we all struggle with. They almost always offer coupon codes which sometimes can have you paying next to nothing!

It would create student jobs

Having Uber in Pullman would create jobs for those students who qualify. Uber is known for their flexibility with employees, so what better student job than one that works with your schedule?

Convenience

The Uber app allows users to track their driver so you know which direction he/she is coming from and how long it may take them to arrive where you are. It also allows you to track the direction you’re going towards your destination. It is much easier to navigate in case your driver ends up taking you a longer route.

Never a long wait

Personally, I’ve always waited tremendously long for a cab driver on a Friday night in Pullman. But while in Seattle visiting, I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes for an Uber. Uber does well at estimating pick-up times, and like I said above, you can track where your driver is at!

There's an accountability system

Uber allows their customers to rate their drivers. Uber also allows their drivers to rate customers. So, if you’re really drunk, and you piss off an Uber driver, don’t expect a good review. Uber drivers also have to undergo certain procedures to become approved. The age of your vehicle, criminal history, and other elements are taken into consideration.

It's only going to get bigger and better

It's 2016, let's be real. Uber is the “wave of the future.” Uber has basically beaten other transportation services. It's cheaper, more convenient, and people seem to prefer it over taxis.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
