Why Dogs Are Better Than Most People

They really are a human's best friend.

Why Dogs Are Better Than Most People

Dog owners/lovers and introverts may have moments when they think this:

Dogs just seem to get you. People can do you wrong, but your dog would never intentionally try to upset you. They are blissfully adorable, keeping you entertained with their actions and appearance. Dogs provide an irreplaceable companionship for humans. No matter what kind of dog you have (or are besties with), you know that they sit at the top of your friend list. Here is a brief breakdown as to why dogs are better than most people.

1. Dogs are loyal and dependable.

You don't have to worry where your dog is when you're out or who they talk to when you're not around. And even if they could talk, you know that they'd only be talking to you. Dogs are loyal, which basically means they have your back 24/7. Military services, police forces, and hunters use dogs for help because of their dependability and wide skill set.

2. Dogs are your personal therapist.

Dogs are always down to listen to your vent sesh. Sure, they may not understand exactly what you're saying, but they can tell when you need comforting. Dogs can sense when they are needed and are amazing stress relievers through their presence alone.

3. Dogs have an unmatched enthusiasm for life.

Dogs eagerly greet you when you come home. They get excited when you give them a treat or throw a ball. Dogs live in the moment and love the little things that make them happy. Seeing a dog's enthusiasm for their bone or toy rubs off on you, making you happier through their joy. The world would be much more fun if humans were as animated as dogs.

4. Dogs keep you active.

Different breeds of dogs require varying degrees of activity. But most dogs love to go on walks or to parks with their owners (or anyone in general). Getting out and exercising with your dog is a win-win for everyone involved. It helps your dog stay healthy and gets you up and moving as well.

5. Dogs are the best cuddlers around.

A correlational study at Miami University suggests that interacting with dogs helps lower stress levels and increases the production of oxytocin, making you happier. Dog owners/lovers definitely get to reap the benefits by snuggling with their furry friends. So, cuddling your dog is not only awesome, but good for you, too!

6. Dogs love you unconditionally.

Dogs are your number one fan. They are there for you through thick and thin. After all, a dog is the only thing that loves you more than they love themselves.

So thank your dog for everything!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
