15 Signs You're From Minnesota

The land of 10,000 lakes is one of the best places to grow up. Now, I may of course be a little biased being that I grew up there, but i'm not the only one that thinks so. Patch of Earth came up with a list of The 8 Best Cities to Live In Within the U.S. , and the number one place (the Twin Cities) just happens to be in MN. Of course every state has their own list of things that make them stand out as a true resident to the area, but until you leave this place you call home you may not know what this list entails. People like to make jokes about Minnesotans and where we live, so for those of you who haven't experienced anything on the list of being minnesotan, here are 15 signs, you can't deny, that show you're from the land of 10,000 lakes.

1. The idea of people paying tax on clothes seems absurd.

If that super cute dress you want says $19.99 you're going to pay exactly 19.99 and not a penny more.

2. You hate Edina.

3. You avoid the Mall Of America at all costs.

4. You eat "hot dish" not casserole.

Tator tot hotdish, it's a thing.

5. You get upset when people think Fargo is in MN.

The movie is great, but Fargo is in North Dakota, people.

6. You're a genuinely nice person.

Because "Minnesota Nice" is actually a real thing.

7. You say you're "Going Up North" whether or not your actually going north of where you are.

8. The 12 days before Labor day are the best of days of summer.

You can't wait for those Sweet Martha's cookies.

9. You know the popular children's game as "Duck Duck Grey Duck" instead of "Duck Duck Goose."

10. It's called Pop, not Soda, or Soda Pop. Just Pop.

11. Praying for Snow days and rarely getting them.

12. Cabin season is the best season.

13. You call the University of Minnesota "the U" or "the U of M".

14. There's no question that Caribou Coffee is better than Starbucks.

15. Bonfires are a must all summer long.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
