10 Appearances To Look Forward To In The 2015 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Every year on Thanksgiving Day, my sister and I wake up just before 9 a.m. to get ready to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It has been a tradition in our family since we were young—sitting on our couch in our pajamas and nestled in our blankets. During the parade, we switch back and forth between NBC and ABC. If you enjoy watching broadway performances, you probably just watch the parade on NBC. If you prefer seeing all of the different floats and balloons, then CBS is the way to go. On both channels, the reporters always interview actors and actresses from tv shows on their networks. It is one of my favorite parts of the parade. The following are people or things I am looking forward to see during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

1. Shawn Mendes

Even though he is Canadian, I wouldn't mind listening to Shawn sing a few tunes at the Thanksgiving Day Parade. I think he is the new "Justin Bieber."

2. Jordin Sparks

When Jordin went on tour with the Jonas Brothers a few year ago, I got to meet her before the concert. She was so sweet and took the time to autograph my CD. She is one of the only American Idol finals to make it big. I love her musical style!

3. The Cast of School of Rock: The Musical

Remember that movie when Jack Black disguised himself as a substitute teacher and created a band with his "students." Now there is an new adaptation into a musical!

4. Mariah Carey

Carey song, "All I Want for Christmas," never get old. It gets me in the Christmas spirit.

5. Andy Grammer

"It's fine by me" if Andy performs at the parade.

6. Panic! At the Disco

Their song, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies," takes me back to my middle songs dances. I can still recite the whole song!

7. Daughtry

Daughter is probably the only rock group I will listen to. Again, he is another singer from American Idol that made it big.

8. Questlove

If you didn't know, Questlove is a member of The Roots who is the official band of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He usually has a comb in his afro.

9. Tom Turkey Float

This is one of my favorite floats in the parade. Seeing it just gets me in the thanksgiving spirit!

10. Santa Claus

Who doesn't love seeing Santa Claus! It means Christmas is right around the corner!

Well, there you have it! So on Thursday at 9 a.m. grab a blanket and take a seat on your couch to enjoy one of the best parades of the year.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
