I've lived in North Carolina since the day I was born, and naturally it always crosses my mind to find new and fun places to go. Here are 14 places I have been and think you should too. Hope you enjoy the experience!
1. Blue Ridge Mountains
Drive down this road to experience scenic beauty. Perfect tourist attraction and perfect place for pictures. Tons of hiking and trails are located here for the perfect outdoor excursion.
2. Biltmore Estate
Located in Asheville NC this gorgeous place is a tourist attraction mansion. This gorgeous privately owned estate is one place that should be on your bucket list. With places to stay and local attractions this one should go in the books as a place to visit.
3. The Billy Graham Library
Experience the life of Billy Graham. Also come and experience the Gospel that Billy Graham has preached for years. With free admission why not come and experience a place so serene and peaceful.
4. Wilmington
This historic river district is home to three beaches: Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach. This is North Carolina's most accessible coastal destination.
5. Whitewater Center
Mountain biking trails, high ropes courses, running trails, climbing center, kayaking, canoeing, and of course white water rafting. This outdoor recreation center is full of fun filled activities.
6. Nascar Hall of Fame
This museum is dedicated to those Nascar drivers with major milestones in their careers. You can experience and see all of the many major accomplishments walking through this museum. So many life sized artifacts help each visitor to truly experincce things first hand as if they are on the track.
7. Lazy 5 Ranch
Take a guided tour along the trails of Lazy 5 Ranch. This ranch is comprised of several animals. Grab a bucket full of feed before you hop aboard the wagon. The wagons go around the trail and stop along the way so you can take a cloer look at Zebras, Giraffes, Ostriches, etc.
8. Great Smoky Mountains
Mountains. Trails are set along these mountains located in between the North Carolina and Tennessee border. Gorgeous is the only word needed when talking about these mountain tops.
9. Raleigh
The capital of North Carolina is home to lots of new traditions and old history. Visit Raleigh to experience a modern city. Experience college life at Duke University or Chapel Hill or North Carolina State, also known as the Triangle. Raleigh is home to various cultural and historic sites.
10. Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens
Join a tour of this beautiful garden located in Belmont, NC. This beautiful garden is home to thousands of flowers which are great to come look at. Whether you are a garden enthusiast or not this garden will shock you will all of the vibrant colors. They are also sometimes used as a wedding venue.
11. Carowinds
400 acres of thrill seeking rides are found in this amusement park. This park is split between North and South Carolina. The most exciting ride is the newest and world record breaking thrill seeker called FURY 325. This roller coaster is the world's tallest and fastest giga coaster. So hop aboard this crazy coaster which might make your mouth drop.
12. Asheboro Zoo
Love Animals? Then this is the place for you! This zoo consists of over 500 acres of land for animals like Elephants, Monkeys, Giraffes, etc. With admission only being $15 dollars it sure would be fun to take a day trip to.
13. Nantahala Whitewater Rafting
White water rafting through eight miles in between the Appalachian Mountains and the Nantahala National Forest. This thrilling rafting experience is sure to make the whole family happy. Not only do they offer rafting experiences but they also offer a high ropes course.
14. Grandfather Mountain
This place is a located in the Mountains of North Carolina located in Linville,NC. Here at Grandfather Mountain you can enjoy the view or test your fear of heights on the mile high swinging bridge. With free admission this bridge is sure to test your fears but dazzle the eye.
