11 Best Cereals Of A 90s Childhood

Nostalgia is magically delicious.

Cereal is every kids best friend in the morning before school. And it's every kid's best friend when writing papers and studying for tests at 3 am. Even though I'm now old and boring and eat gluten free cereal with rice puffs and flaxseed, I will never forget the amazing artificial flavoring in some of my favorite breakfast cereals that used to give me so much joy. Here are 11 of my favorites:

11. Trix

Even though this rabbit was possibly the most annoying mascot ever, you still had to admire his persistence. (Or maybe it was just stupidity?) Either way, this cereal was super fruity and had cool shapes. There's not much more we could ask for.

10. Golden Grahams

Mini, honey-coated graham crackers on a spoon? Count me in.

9. Apple Jacks

Note that I'm not a fan of the apple mascot that reminds me of Gollum and the Rastafarian cinnamon stick in the new commercials, but I will never not like this cereal. It doesn't taste like apples or jacks, but it still got me through those mornings before venturing off into third grade.

8. Froot Loops

Even fruitier than Trix, Froot Loops was and always will be an old favorite. My whole world was wrecked when someone told me all of them taste the same, though.

7. Crunch Berries

Everyone knows it's not the actual Cap'n Crunch, it's just the berries. I would purposefully eat around the Cap'n Crunch just to get to them. Love runs deep.

6. Honey Smacks

This is perhaps the most underrated cereal of all time. Who knew something so small and puffy could create so much sugary happiness?

5. Pops

Gotta have 'em. That's all I have to say.

4. Lucky Charms

First of all, this cover is terrifying. Out of all the concepts for a children's cereal, they have to go with the one that screams "I'm going to snack on you while you're napping." Bad call, General Mills. Good thing your cereal is magically delicious and everyone loves it already because this cover would've killed it otherwise.

3. Frosted Mini Wheat

Fiber AND sugar? Sign me up, man. These little guys are my heroes.

2. Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch

Is it yummy delicious cereal or cocaine? Irrelevant. I might not mind being 600 lbs. if it meant I could live off of this for the rest of my life.

1. Honey Nut Cheerios

In the world of cereal, simplicity is key. And this is it. The "I just ate five bowls and I'm not even mad" cereal. Just mini donut seeds glazed with honey and milk. Life is made.

So these have been some of my favorites. Note that the reading on the back of the box will vary, but the taste will never fade.
