If Hellen Keller taught me anything in life, it’s that, “Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing,” and while that reigns true on many different levels, it specifically suites my love of travel. My bucket list of places to go is essentially endless, and possibly unrealistic to some, for I eventually want to go everywhere in this world (and maybe even to outer space...but ‘nother story, ‘nother time). But for now, my top five must-see travel destinations are as followed:
5. Egypt
With views of the Red Sea to the ancient remains of Pharaohs, Egypt is unique to any other country. On your once-in-a-lifetime trip here, you’ll never run out of temples to explore or camels to ride (physique allowing). But when you get done doing all of that, the city of Alexandria should be your next stop on the tour for its hub-ub and to appreciate the rich history in a different sense.
4. Tanzania
From its city life to its safari roots, Tanzania is definitely a must-see for me. There are not many places in the world where you can see an elephant in its natural habitat, the highest African mountain and cities' views all in the same country, but Tanzania is one of them. This trip would certainly be one for the records.
3. Iceland
I can easily say (from Google images) that Iceland is one of the most breathtaking countries in the world. With a plethora of things to do from touring ice caves, visiting geysers, hiking by mountains made of lava fields, relaxing in the infamous Blue Lagoon and most importantly, a spectacular view of the Northern Lights, Iceland has it all. Iceland is its own entity in all senses of the word and should be on every traveler's bucket list.
2. Thailand
The native home of the Siamese cat, and possibly one of the most overlooked countries in the world, Thailand is one of the places I must see to die complete. While this trip may reign pricy, as most excursions do, Thailand actually translates to “land of the free” (did America pirate that slogan?). Thailand also encompasses the trilogy of qualities that every travel experience should provide: a deep-rooted history, adventure and relaxation in its purest form.
1. Bulgaria
While this may seem kind of random to some, Bulgaria, like Thailand, often gets overlooked as one of the coolest places in the world. With one of the oldest found forgotten cities in Europe, some of the most peculiar rock formations in the world and countless monasteries, Bulgaria is a wonder of the world and as of right now, the next stop on my tourist-travel list.
