Monica is undeniably the most neurotic, obsessive compulsive, highly competitive character on the hit sitcom "Friends," but underneath all that crazy is a friend who will always be brutally honest with you and cook you an amazing meal to boot. All of the "Friends" characters bring something to the table, whether it’s Ross’s sensitivity, Phoebe’s quirkiness, Rachel’s eye for style, Chandler’s unending sarcasm, or Joey just being Joey. But forget about those guys for a sec. Here’s why everyone needs a friend like Monica.
1. She’s a foodie.

Obviously the fact that she can cook is the most important quality in her being a best friend, right? As a former fat kid, or "big fat goalie," as they used to call her, Monica has always had a love for food. After losing all the weight and refining her palate, she's become the successful chef of a swanky New York City restaurant. Meaning, she can cook you a bomb ass meal any day of the week.
2. Her apartment is spotless.

Monica is a bona fide neat freak who will give you trouble if you forget to use a coaster. But that just means that she cares about you… kind of. Whatever, if you ever show up with a dirty car, know that Monica will be out there cleaning it quicker than you can say “ugly naked guy.”
3. She’ll always be there to help out a friend.
We all remember when Monica helped Chandler with his lady problems or when she took Rachel in after she ditched her own wedding. At the end of the day, she puts her friends first, ready to jump in whatever the situation.
4. She’s the hostess with the mostest.

With a friend like Monica, you can pretty much count on her to host Thanksgiving, throw you a surprise birthday party, plan your wedding, or at the very least, always have a stocked fridge. Whenever your plans fall through, know that Monica is there to serve your needs.
5. She’s a hilarious drunk.

After a few drinks, Monica is basically the life of the party. So take advantage of those rare occasions your neurotic friend has a few too many bevvies, because after she’s sobered up, it’s back to boring parties with Boggle tournaments and flan instead of birthday cake.
6. She's not afraid to be honest.

Having a friend like Monica means that she’ll always be brutally honest with you, whether it's about your love life or setting you straight when you’ve clearly made the wrong decision. Mind you, this also means she’ll bring up embarrassing facts of your past to prove a point. But you’re willing to look past that, because no one tells it quite like it is like Monica.
