3 Things To Consider When Getting A Tattoo

Tattoos are a great way to express yourself through body art. However, tattoos are a huge commitment. Tattoos are a big decision because they are permanent. The decisions you make about getting a tattoo will last up to a lifetime. If you make a mistake, removing the tattoo can be an expensive couple of years and your tattoo may not be able to be fully removed. There is so much more to consider about getting a tattoo than the artwork you want inked into your skin.

Where are you going to place your tattoo?

Placement is just as important as what artwork you are getting a tattoo. There isn't a place that you can't get a tattoo. However, there are risks and unwanted ramifications in certain areas such as the palms and fingers. Also, depending on your profession, it may be frowned upon to show your tattoo. Your job may require your tattoo to be covered up by clothing, makeup, or a sleeve.

Where are you getting your tattoo? Who is going to be your tattoo artist?

Choosing your tattoo artist is like choosing a doctor. You have to do your research and it is really important that you get the best one in the area! Know you shop and artist like you know your doctor. The Internet is a great place to do your research. The shops that are good will have good reviews. Check the shops cleanliness and how long they have been there.

Not only is the Internet a great way to do your research but researching by word of mouth is too. See someone who has a really clean and well-done tattoo or someone who is a tattoo collector? Ask them where and who did it for them. It can help your search for a tattoo parlor and artist go a lot quicker. Also, you can get a view of how well and what the artist can do. It is important to get an artist that understands how to tattoo different body types. You want an artist who knows how to give the best tattoo that fits to your shape and skin color. Depending on where you are getting your tattoo, find an artist that knows how to draw tattoos for that specific body area.

Are you sure you really, really, really want the tattoo?

Once that needle touches your skin, there is no turning back! Your tattoo will be permanently a part of your body for the rest of your life. Don't go on a whim and decide one day that you want a tattoo, then you go get one and the next day you regret it. You have to put in some thought about getting a tattoo. It is a huge decision. It may not seem as big of a decision like you are choosing to marry your spouse or buying a car. But you can't get a divorce or trade in your tattoo.

Once you decide to get a tattoo and have a place and artist, have a seat in that chair and then enjoy your new tattoo!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
