FRIENDS Meets Finals

Finals Week Emotions as told by FRIENDS

We’ve all been there, we’ve all said it, we’ve all done it. It’s time we let our emotions felt towards finals week be known even if it’s through FRIENDS. Here are twenty-two times FRIENDS has put our emotions towards finals week into actual words.

When you attempt to study for an exam you know you’re going to fail.

When someone's talking about how happy they are to have no finals yet you haven’t slept or bathed in three days because you have five finals in the next two days.

When someone complains about your attitude due to your lack of sleep.

When you know you’re going to do poorly on an exam so you ask around and make sure everyone in your class feels the same way.

When you’ve already cried 67 times in one day and it’s only noon.

When all your friends aren’t nearly as stressed as you are.

When you decide to take a nap instead of taking the extra hour and a half to study.

When your professor tells you you may only get a ‘C’ for their class.

When someone is continuously breaking the 24 hour quiet hours.

When you’re really ready for Winter Break, but you still have two more exams until FREEDOM.

When your friends don’t think they can go on any longer so you try and give them a pep talk.

When you get to shower for the first time in three days and your exam stress starts to build up in your head.

When procrastination hits you hard.

When you’re on your third mental breakdown of the day and you don’t know if you’ll make it to Winter Break so you have to give yourself a mental pep talk.

When all you can think about doing is crying and you don’t know how to stop yourself from doing that.

When you see people in the cafe laughing and having a good time yet you haven’t cracked a smile since the last Tuesday.

When you smell bad from your lack of showers, you’re body consists of 90% coffee, and you just snapped at a chair for looking too happy with life.

When you walk out of an exam that you left half blank.

When someone brags about being super successful at all their exams.

When you give yourself a pep talk about material you don’t understand at all.

When your first exam went really well and your second one mentally destroys you.

And when it’s all over and someone tries to mention anything school related to you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
