Anyone who knows me can attest to my obsession with country music. To me, the CMAs are like Christmas morning.
With this obsession comes an idolization of both Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. In addition to the greatness of their music, Blake seems like he would be a hysterical, fun-time-always type of guy and Miranda? Well, come on, who wouldn't want to be Miranda Lambert?
Perhaps better than these two as individuals, is them together as a couple.
When I think about the fact that these two are married, I believe it to be nothing but pure perfection. Anyone who has ever read or viewed anything about these two, and learned of their success, looks at them and thinks nothing but “power couple.”
To further prove their status as a power couple, Blake and Miranda took home male vocalist of the year and female vocalist of the year, respectively, at the CMAs last week….. for the fifth year in a row.
For the past five years, aka half a decade, this dynamic duo has been awarded vocalists of the year. C’mon people, talk about power couple.
While these two may have their individual success, combined together to make them even more successful as a couple, they also complement one another well, making each other even better than they already are. The most prominent example I can think of to illustrate this is the song “Over You.” This is technically Blake’s song, written for his brother who has passed away. While Blake originally created this powerful ballad, for a long period of time he was unable to sing the song or perform it anywhere as it brought up too many emotions. Miranda, however, recognized this, but had full confidence in the power of this song. Thus, in the years that Blake couldn't, Miranda performed his song, turning it into a hit.
When Blake was finally at a place where he could sing “Over You,” the song was well-known and successful thanks to his loving wife, who had it there waiting for him until he was ready.
Talk about true love.
It’s moments like this in my mind that truly display the type of relationship these two have, and how well they fit together.
I could rave for pages about the perfection that is this couple, but I think the only way to really describe it is that, in my mind, they are the ultimate power couple. Both have taken the country music world by storm, creating chart-topper after chart-topper, all the while completing one another and showing the world what true love is.
While country music celebrities can sometimes be underrated, I think that this is one couple that no one should overlook.
