11 Things Dog Lovers Know Too Well

Every once in a while, a person is blessed with the presence of a dog in their life. From that point on, loving dogs is all that you will know and you will become obsessed. It's all because of their charming good looks, their adorable personalities, and their willingness to help others. And with loving dogs beyond belief, come some things that dog lovers certainly know all too well.

1. All dogs are considered cute.

Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, yet every single dog is just as cute as the rest. Like, come on, look how cute they are!

2. They're down to cuddle when no one else is.

Forget about your boyfriend or girlfriend. Dogs are willing to cuddle with you no matter what. They don't care if you haven't showered in days or if your hair gets in their face when you're spooning, they're just down for some good ole cuddling.

3. They're always down to exercise with you.

Although dogs tend to pull when they walk (who blames them, they're probably excited), they never say no to exercising with you. They are without even knowing it, encouraging you to look your ultimate best.

4. Getting a puppy for Christmas is your lifelong dream.

Forget the pony and the piles of clothes that you'll never wear. Get the gift of unconditional love. Nothing is cuter than a puppy in a Santa hat anyways. And it's granted to make you cry from happiness.

5. There's no such thing as a "bad breed of dog".

Dog breeds such as pit bulls, rottweilers, and German Shepard get bad reputations for being "vicious". Although this is not completely untrue, any true dog lover knows not to discriminate. It's all about how you raise them. Besides, the chihuahua is statistically the most vicious dog breed and you don't see them getting hated on.

6. Your hardest goodbye is always the one you say to your dog.

Leaving your dog is easily one of the hardest things that a person has to do and involves crying for hours on end. They don't know you're leaving, when you'll be back, or if you'll ever come back. And thinking about their sadness just tears you apart. Just make it easy on yourself and don't leave them. Ever.

7. Seeing a dog makes your day.

College students can all easily relate to this. Seeing a dog whenever you don't expect to can make your day and there is a 100 percent chance that I will pet him. I am not sorry.

8. Work really means providing for your future dog.

Everyone knows that when it comes to working, you break your back just so you can provide your dog with the best life possible. Who would you rather spoil than your dog? The answer is no one.

9. Your clothes always look like this.

No matter how hard you try, you always end up with several pieces of dog fur left on your clothing. There's really no point in owning a lint roller anymore because fur will end up on your clothes the minute it is taken off.

10. You don't know how humans got so blessed to have dogs in our lives.

Dogs are easily one of the most loyal, trustworthy, and friendly animals on the planet. How did we even get so lucky to have them in the presence of our life?

11. But, you're so glad that we did.

There's never a moment in your life that you're not grateful for your dog. They've changed your life in more ways than one. So much to the point where living without a dog or two would be absurd. We're forever thankful for the dogs in our life and are willing to give them just the kind of love that they deserve (and that's a lot of it).

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
