Connecticut is a wonderful state to reside in, in the summer time. The weather is beautiful and there are many places to explore and swim. However, as summer days begin to drag on, feeling bored and restless becomes inevitable. Within this article, I will recommend some of my personal favorite things to do during the summer time in Connecticut.

1. Enders Falls

Enders State Forest is located in between Granby and Barkhamsted. Not only is it a wonderful trail to hike, there is also many spots to cliff jump and swim. There are numerous waterfalls as well. Enders is truly a one-of-a-kind place.

2. Heublein Tower

The Heublein Tower is located in Simsbury. The hike up to the tower is around thirty to forty minutes long and fairly easy. During the summer, the Hueblein Tower is usually open for tours. The tower was originally a 165-foot-tall home.

3. Lake Compounce

Lake Compounce is located between Bristol and Southington. It opened in 1846, resulting in it being the oldest amusement park in the U.S. It is a great place to spend the day with family and friends.

4. The Wall/Collinsville Bridge

The Collinsville Bridge is a huge bridge located in Canton. During the summer, it is common to find people jumping off the bridge into the Farmington River. Even if you don't want to jump, you can still swim underneath in the river. The wall is located more in Avon. As the years go on, the Wall is becoming more and more dangerous to jump off of. However, it is still a great place to explore. There are two abandoned buildings lining the walk to the wall that withhold tons of intense graffiti.

5. Tubing/Kayaking down the Farmington River

Tubing and kayaking down the Farmington River is an amazing way to spend the day and get in touch with mother nature. These activities are the type of activities that make you feel like you have accomplished something important.

6. Elizabeth Park

Elizabeth Park takes up 102 acres in West Hartford. The park has tons of different assortments of flowers, gazebos, and trees. This spot is a quaint place to just hang out and relax.

7. Alive at Five

Alive at Five is a concert venue in downtown Stamford. Concerts are held weekly here throughout the months of July and August. It is an exciting spot with lots of different eateries.

8. Concerts

The Comcast Theatre in Hartford should be a staple in your summer agenda. The Comcast Theatre holds many different artists and bands including Dave Matthews Band, Rascal Flatts, Wiz Khalifa, and many more. You can be sure that a band you like is coming to the Comcast Theatre this summer.

9. Brownstone

Brownstone Adventure Park is located in Portland. This park includes activities along the lines of zip lining, cliff jumping, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, and more. It is one of my personal favorites and I recommend that everyone checks it out.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
