It was 3 a.m., and two of my best friends and I were struggling to study for our quickly approaching final exams. We had been in the library for the entire day and even had to move to another location to continue working when the library closed. It had been a long day, to say the least, and by the time the clock struck three, we all were going a little crazy. Among the delirium and near-chaos of our “study session," my friend brought up Ronald Reagan (she was studying for an American history exam) and how hot he was when he was younger.

As it turns out, a lot of our Presidents were quite attractive in their youth, as were several other widely known historical figures. In my state of exhausted silliness, I decided that for each day of exams I would post a “historical hottie" on Twitter and immediately kicked the posts off with none other than America's 19th president, Rutherford B. Hayes.

To further spread my “historical hotties" (and help people appreciate the past a little more), I thought The Odyssey would be the best place to start.

Rutherford B. Hayes: You could find him playing croquet and studying at Harvard in his youth.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt: When the 32nd president was young, he spent his free time sailing and fishing.

Almonzo Wilder: Not a president or political figure, he was the husband of Laura Ingalls Wilder, noted American author of The Little House on the Prairie books. Growing up and into adulthood, he had a passion for horses.

Ronald Reagan: As a teenager he worked as a lifeguard at the swimming area of the local river.

Lewis Payne: He was hanged as one of the Lincoln assassination conspirators, but still, oh so attractive.

John F. Kennedy:The hot president, for obvious reasons. He was on a baseball team as pitcher and third-basemen when he was growing up.

Johannes Brahms: A German composer, he began playing the piano and cello at a young age.

Theodore Roosevelt: He could be found riding horses and shooting in his youth, despite his asthma.

William “Blackie" Zupkoski: A Philadelphian criminal charged with over 40 accounts of armed robbery in the early 1900s.

Che Guevara: This Argentine Marxist revolutionary swam and played rugby and in his youth.
