So there's that girl you meet on the very first day of rush and you totally insta-crushed on her. You so desperately wanted her to be in your house, but alas she wears different letters now.
But don't worry. It's totally cool. Having a sister from another house is one of the greatest things ever.
1. It's not a competition with them.
We all know that there is some inner competitiveness in every sorority. It's just a girl thing. But with your BFFFAH (Best Friend Forever From Another House), it just doesn't register. You don't need to compete with them for the perfect little, who can put more glitter on crafts, or the presidency of the house. They have their own house to deal with.
2. They understand Greek.
Greek life is kind of a hard concept for someone on the outside to fully grasp. Especially when you start talking in abbreviations such as GGB, GGGF, TSM, ect. Like that quote "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't explain it."
3. You can never ruin a surprise.
We all know that there are those times (ie: Big/Little Reveal or Pinnings) where you are literally going to burst if you don't tell everybody everything right in that moment. Lucky for you, you can hop on over to your BFFFAH's house and just spill. And they totally understand secrecy too. Whatever you say to them goes into the back of their secrets chamber, right next to their rituals and fraternity crushes.
4. You have your own personal cheerleader.
Many a time, those captains for that one philanthropy event you're in will come to Monday night dinner and tell you all about how "excited they are that you're participating" and "can't wait to beat all the other sororities" in the most monotone, unenthusiastic voice you have ever heard. Your BFFFAH is different though. She is stoked beyond comparison and will go the extra mile to make sure that your poster looks better than anyone else's. She may even get some of her sisters to cheer you on, which is so fetch. Plus, when you are competing against her, at least she is right there on your side slogging through event after event so you won't need to fill her in later.
5. You are loved.
I know that you are already loved by your sisters. But she's your best friend. Her love is deeper than the pile of debt you have waiting for you after graduation. And no matter the social status of your two houses, nothing will be able to break the bond you have.
