- Stairs. No freshman 15 here. No matter where you go, you'll have to walk up at least one flight of steps. Stairs to class, stairs from class. Stairs in all the buildings. Stairs to get to the bridge. Stairs stairs stairs. Rocky Balboa would love it here.
- Pronunciation. It's Towson. Not toe-son. Not Town-son. It's just Towson.
- The shuttle. Figuring out when it comes. Making sure it's on time. Making sure there is enough room on the shuttle to take you to class. The list goes on and on.
- The gym. Planning what time it will be the least crowded... but somehow it's always crowded.
- Walking to West Village. The struggle of walking all that way for food or staying on campus and saving yourself a mile trek.
- Spending those meals. It's Thursday night and you already know where you'll be, standing side by side next to everyone else who has a meal plan, trying to buy yourself some goodies to stash under your bed.
- Parking. I feel as if this does not need an explanation.
- Temperature. Dealing with Maryland weather is hard enough as is. When it is 100 degrees outside, you better pack a sweater for your below freezing classroom temperature.
- Class cancellation. While many other local universities know when they’ll have off school, Towson likes for students to panic a little and makes their decision the day of. Waiting up all night for the news can also be a drag.
- Text alerts. Waking up to see what went on while you were running ramped uptown can be slightly unnerving.
- Having to deal with Jimmy's Cabs before Uber was a thing. Being put on hold for what felt like forever while every other Towson student called for a cab and having to struggle to tell them where to go.
- Finding places. Apparently everything you’ve never needed or wanted is right off of York Road. How big is this "York Road" and what exactly does it mean?!
