The University of Texas is known as one the best and most prestigious public colleges in the United States, but no one tells you that it will, in turn, ruin your life. This is my warning to all you "future Longhorns" before it's too late. You need to truly understand what you are getting yourself into. "Bleeding orange" is no joke. This article is completely based on true stories.
1. I have extremely high expectations for my future city after Austin (if I ever leave).
2. I own way too many burnt orange articles of clothing.
3. I have a love for steers that I never knew about. (RIP Bevo XIV.)
4. Everything is a challenge here, so I have to work way harder and handle way more stress than I did in high school.
5. I now take two to three naps a day.
6. Whenever I have a kid, I will have to control myself from pressuring him or her to go to the greatest university in the world.
7. The words "strong" and "smart" will forever hold a new meaning.
8. I am now forced to be athletic.
9. I feel a strong emotional connection to Mathew McConaughey, Vince Young, Kevin Durant and Colt McCoy.
10. I will forever have to do the clap in clap, clap, clap, clap "Deep In The Heart Of Texas."
11. I will forever be terrified of squirrels crawling on the table and literally eating off of my plate.
12. I know that I can never escape the eyes of Texas...at night or early in the morn...
13. Thanks to UT's motto, I am expected to change the world. Thanks for such high expectations.
