10 Ways To Overcome College Chaos

College is overwhelming - whether good grades come naturally to you or not. There is always that gut feeling that something needs to be done at all times of the day. Your To-Do list may often seem like a never-ending list of errands to run and assignments to finish before the weekend. Here are some ways to overcome this idea of college chaos.

Here are 10 Ways To Overcome College Chaos:

1. When it comes to novels, AUDIOBOOK everything.

Why? When you AUDIOBOOK and listen to the novel, you have the benefit of following along with the physical words on the page. Also, you can listen to your book on your way to and from classes during the day. Audiobooks can also be listened to in the gym, so instead of sitting on your bum eating popcorn, you can be active and do school work at the same time!

2. College is a job.

Treat your school work as if its a 9:00am-5:00 pm job. You go to school at random hours of the day, but in-between classes are times you have reserved for studying and other assignments. After 5pm, it's playtime!

3. Eat right.

Brain food is an actual thing. Having a balanced diet has proven to have positive effects on BRAIN POWER and function. Try eating 6 small meals per day in order to improve your thoughts and study skills.

4. Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is complicated when you are always on-the-go. Try to always keep a water bottle around and strive to drink water frequently. Research shows that lack of hydration can result to dizziness and laziness, which of course lowers your drive to study. So drink up!

5. SCHOLARSHIP over social obligation.

It may come as a surprise to some of you, but as a college student, you are here to get an education. Don't be one of those people who ends up flunking out of school because they were too wasted to remember that their English paper was due at midnight. Keep reminders in your phone to stay on top of things and work hard during the week so that you can go out all weekend long and celebrate.

6. Stay positive!

Becoming overwhelmed when you are studying, or involved in too many things is quite common for the average student. Make sure you stay positive and have a "CAN DO" attitude. College is supposed to challenge you and build you into a person of higher learning and wisdom. Accept the challenges and grow from them.

7. Surround yourself with those whose reputation you would carry yourself.

When it comes to friends, make sure that you surround yourself with people who you think will grow you into a better person. Find friends who encourage you, and make you want to be the best person you can be. Your reputation is who you surround yourself with. Remember that!

8. Leave that petty drama at High School Graduation.

Rise above the storm, and stay out of the drama. Negative emotions can impact the stress in your life, and you are honestly too old to think Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is how people should be treated in reality.

9. Save time for yourself.

This is important. Whether you want to save time to work out, watch a movie, paint your nails, or anything else that makes you happy - do it! It is so easy to get caught up with everything going on around you and get on edge. Relax and do something good for yourself.

10. Lastly, HAVE FUN and get involved!!

These are the best years if your lives! Be spontaneous, take pictures, and laugh!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
