An Open Letter To The Girl Who Will One Day Marry My Brother

If you're reading this, the most important thing that I want you to take away from what I say is that I truly believe you are the luckiest woman in the world.

The luckiest woman in the world besides me, that is.

I am the luckiest because I have had the joy of and pure pleasure of growing up with my best friend. From the time I was born I have had a protector who has always been my better judgment, looked out for me, and led me in the right direction. I have had a constant system of support in every step of my life, encouraging and believing in me throughout the best and worst times of my life.

I have had someone who has always understood my sense of humor, constantly laughing both with me and at me. I have had someone who has always gone out of his way to make sure I'm doing well in school and lending a helping hand in any way he can.I have had someone who has made me a better person, and he's probably done and will continue to do the same with you.

Here are some things you should know about him: He loves sports. He loves sports a lot.

He may yell a lot during sporting events (especially Tennessee games), but hopefully, you'll understand and do the same. He can quote the movie Dumb and Dumber forwards and backwards. He has an obsession with Zaxby's that is unmatched and you'll probably know his order by heart. Breaking Bad is his favorite show of all time.

Our family is very important to him so you've probably spent and will be spending a lot of time with us.

His friends will keep you laughing; they're some of the funniest people I've ever met. He is 100 percent a dog person. He has a way of bettering people. He's smart. He's driven. He's caring. He's adventurous. He has the biggest heart. He works harder than anyone I know. He's thoughtful. He's dedicated. He's trustworthy. He will do everything in his power to never let you down. He will without a doubt be the best husband you could ever hope for, and he will be the best father too.

I whole-heartedly believe that you going to spend the rest of your life with the most amazing person in this whole world.

The person you are going to marry is my role model and my idol; he always has been and always will be. As much as he is going to take care of you, I need you to take care of him. I need you to be his best friend. I need you to support him, encourage him, and love him to the best of your ability because I know for a fact he deserves it. Just know that if he loves you, I love you. I genuinely hope you know how lucky you are.

So to the woman who will marry my brother,

Make my best friend and big brother happy -- I know you will.

Sincerely,

His Biggest Fan

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
