Nashville's 8 Best Restaurants

As a Nashville native, I may or may not be slightly bias towards the wonders of Music City. However, there is no debate that Nashville is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. As the city grows it comes as no surprise that the food scene is also expanding. There are dozens upon dozens of new restaurants popping up every year and I'm here to try and help all my fellow foodies discover the best eateries that Nashville has to offer!

1. Trattoria Il Mulino

Nestled below the Hilton hotel and just outside of the Bridgestone Arena, lies the ultimate Italian experience known as Il Mulino. Il Mulino is relatively new to music city, yet it has already made its culinary mark. In my humble opinion, Il Mulino boasts the best gnocchi in the city. Il Mulino’s pasta dishes are all unique yet equally delicious. Their wine list is impeccable and their service is exceptional. Il Mulino is by no means an affordable restaurant. However, the meal in conjunction with the atmosphere is worth every penny. Spend your next special occasion at Il Mulino. You won’t regret it!

2. Virago

If you are a sushi lover in search of an extraordinary dining experience in the heart of Nashville then look no further than Virago. Virago has an intimate atmosphere and an impeccable menu filled with delicious sushi creations and cocktails that are sure to satisfy!

3. Hattie B's

Hattie B’s is hot chicken heaven. For those who are not aware, hot chicken is the pride of Nashville. It is Nashville’s own delicacy. Hattie B’s arguably boasts the best hot chicken in the city. Spice enthusiasts beware, Hattie B's will no doubt become your favorite savory addiction.

4. Saint Anejo

A cool and causal experience, Saint Anejo has proven to be one of Nashville's newest hot spots. There is no better place to indulge in a Mexican cantina style meal while sipping on premium margaritas with friends.

5. City Winery Nashville

City Winery Nashville is another culinary newcomer. If you consider yourself a wino then this is the place for you! City Winery has acquired a countless commodity of wine for you to enjoy and has taken extreme care in cultivating a menu that pairs perfectly with their extensive wine collection. Not to mention the fact that City Winery often has live music performances too! Did I mention that they also have wine on tap?

6. Kayne Prime

Bound in urban ambiance, Kayne Prime is one of the most chic and delicious steak houses that Nashville has to offer. Their menu is out of this world! The steaks are cooked to perfection and their appetizers are a treat for all of your taste buds!

7. Pinewood Social

Pinewood Social is like an adult Chuck E. Cheese, but with an outstanding catalog of casual cuisine and quirky character. The main attraction at Pinewood Social is the bowling. Yes, that's right, you can bowl WHILE you eat! What more could you want?

8. Sinema

Sinema is a boogie Hollywood inspired American restaurant. Their cocktails are divine and their service is commendable. The true reason, however, that Nashvillians can't get enough of Sinema is simply its atmosphere. You feel as though you have transported back in time to a glamours party in the Hollywood hills.

Now, the only question is... Which restaurant will you try first?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
