12 Fashion Trends I Hope Never Go Out of Style

Because I'm not ready for the "Basic White Girl" Apocalypse.

201

As decades pass, fashion trends undoubtably come and go. But there are a few current day trends that I'm hoping will stick around for quite some time. One day people will most likely look back on these styles and say what were they thinking?!?!... just as we look back on the 80's and say the same. But let's just hope that this generation got a few things right, and that these trends are here for good! Because let's face it, I'm pretty emotionally attached to all of the following.

1. Chacos.
Hate on these shoes all you want, but they are trendy, cute, and comfortable. And also super basic. #chaconation

2. High waisted shorts.
This trend has recycled over the years from the 80's to now, but I hope this one sticks around! High waisted shorts are flattering and turn any outfit from boring to eye-catching.

3. Piko tops.
The comfortable and trendy shirts have become extremely popular over the past year! Mostly because they are pretty much a high class t-shirt in disguise.

4. Nike shorts.
Lord help me whenever Nike short are no longer acceptable in society's fashion standards. These shorts have become the staple to most girls every day outfits. Whatever comes out next, it's gonna be hard to top these bad boys.

5. Oversized t-shirts.
It's no lie that our day to day wear is focussed more on comfortable and casual than cute and fancy. A big t-shirt with a pair of shorts has just the right amount of comfort and on-the-go style to keep you feeling like you are in your pajamas all day (because let's face it, you really could be).

6. David Yurman.
The jewelry from this high end (and high priced) retailer have lined the Christmas and Birthday lists of many-a-girl over the past few years. Hopefully these beautiful accessories will stay envied for some time so all of our investments won't go to waste!

7. Tory Burch.
Whether you drool over the shoes, the bags, or the jewelry Tory Burch has the perfect blend of classy and trendy to catch the eye of girls and women alike.

8. Hunter Boots.
Let's face it. It's probably not the most practical thing to drop a couple hundred dollars on boots you are only going to wear in the rain. But hey- that hasn't stopped me or pretty much the rest of my generation for hopping on this bandwagon. These boots class up any rainy day outfit, for sure!

9. Yoga Pants and Leggings.
The holy promised land of comfort lies in the every day wear of yoga pants and leggings. Sometimes I forget that I actually own jeans. Or any other pants for that matter.

10. Maxi dresses.
The casual maxi dress style proves to be a flattering and comfortable fashion choice for any occasion. Let's hope this style never goes away because you know what a long dress means: no need to shave your legs! God bless.

11. Big scarves.
Chunky scarves add on bonus points to any and every fall or winter outfit.

12. Skinny jeans.
The style of jeans fluctuates from decade to decade. Whether you see the bellbottom jeans of the 70's, the faded stone wash style of the 80's, or the classic Guess jeans of the 90's, lets hope skinny jeans are here for good. This sleek style is flattering and turns any casual outfit into a trendy and fashion forward choice.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
