Thank You, Taylor Swift | The Odyssey Online

If you say that you've never had a five-star jam session to Taylor Swift, you're lying. Her songs undoubtedly make the perfect soundtrack to any kind of jam sesh you may need: the happy ones, the sad ones, the ones caused by you overthinking things a little too much, and the ones possibly caused by those heartbreakers from our past who don't even deserve a sliver of our thoughts. So, thank you, Taylor Swift, for giving me and millions of other girls (and occasionally guys who are too scared to fess up) the words we need to hear.

Call out our ex's (and maybe their new girls, too):

"I realize you love yourself more than you could ever love me."

"All you are is mean, and a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life, and mean."

"You are an expert at sorry, and keeping the lines blurry -- never impressed by me acing your tests."

"Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground won't make you many friends."

"You come around again and say, "Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change, trust me." Remember how that lasted for a day? I say, "I hate you," we break up, you call me, "I love you.

And to cry to on all of those days:

"So I drive home alone. As I turn out the light, I'll put his picture down and maybe get some sleep tonight."

"And I know it's long gone, and that magic's not here no more, and I might be OK, but I'm not fine at all."

"It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you, wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine."

"It rains in your bedroom, everything is wrong. It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone 'cause I was there when you said forever and always."

"And you call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest."

And to make ourselves feel better after one of those days:

"You're beautiful, every little piece love, and don't you know you're really gonna be someone, ask anyone."

"We're happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time. It's miserable and magical."

"Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday, but I realized some bigger dreams of mine."

"We are too busy dancing to get knocked off our feet. Baby, we're the new romantics, the best people in life are free."

"Got the radio on, my old blue jeans and I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve. Feelin' lucky today, got the sunshine. Could you tell me what more do I need?"

"But I keep cruising, can't stop, won't stop moving. It's like I got this music in my body and it's gonna be alright."

The hours we have all spent rocking out to our favorite T Swizzle songs are countless (and maybe even a little embarrassing). But we all know her extremely relatable lyrics and catchy beats aren't going anywhere anytime soon. And for that, we are all thankful. Thanks, T. Swift, you're the bomb.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

Here are some "Parks and Rec" moments that relate to life struggles that just about everyone faces.

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.
