Finals, already!?

Here it is! The final 7-day stress-filled, emotional roller coaster before you can binge watch Netflix all winter break and annoy the crap out of your mom for like a month (more than that). You encounter so many different kinds of students during finals week, some take it seriously some could not care less about their finals and some are a mix of the two. Basically, finals bring out the bad side of everyone involved. Here are just a few that I have personally encountered over my years in college:

1. The "I don't need to study" Show-off

This person is not worried about finals whatsoever. They think their classes are easy enough that they don't even need to study, and you hate them for that! Meanwhile, you're putting in endless hours of studying and they're going out drinking or binge-watching Netflix. Ugh...

2. That person that has just given up

This person is just so done with studying. It seems like there is just not enough time to study all of this material from the past 3 months and they're just over it. They've studied and the material just seems to never end so they've accepted their fate. Here goes nothing...

3. The Procrastinator

This is the student that will do absolutely anything just to avoid studying. They're sitting in the library taking endless Snapchats of their friends, refreshing their Instagram every minute (even if nothing is showing up) and creeping on that girl Jessica's 'Summer 2011' Facebook album. Studying with this person is nearly impossible because they talk the whole time just to avoid looking at their reality. Put the phone away and get back to work!

4. The Flash Card Fanatic

This person is extremely organized, especially with flashcards. They must have hundreds of flash cards spread out across their desk and they have gone over each pile 20 times already. They know what they're doing when it comes to finals, just don't mess with their flashcards...

5.The Night Owl

This person was up all night long studying and chugging red bulls. They are using valuable sleep time to cram in as much studying as possible. After their cram session, they're pretty much falling asleep during the exam and they're so irritable so stay far, far away.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
