With a few more weeks left until spring break, your ability to handle life at Binghamton starts to quickly diminish. Is it time to buy a bus ticket back home? Here are a few signs you’ve been at Binghamton way too long.
1. You feel as though you’ve lived the same day over and over...and over
Alarm rings, snooze. The alarm rings again, get up. Go to class. Go to the Union. Sit around for hours. Go to Bartle. Get dinner at C4. Go to your room. Sleep. Wake up and do it again. -Sigh-
2. The color of the walls gives you a migraine.
Right now, wherever you are, take a look around. Are the walls an off-white color? Are they giving you a headache? I think it’s time to go home.
3. You start REALIZING that you are seeing the same people every day.
In a not so big school, the chances of seeing almost the same people every day are high. But once you start to NOTICE that you are seeing the same guy with a weird mustache three times a day...well you’ve either got a stalker or it’s time to go home.
4. Going out no longer brings you much joy
Once upon a time, you were excited to come back to Binghamton and party it up with your friends. Now, you’ve been calling it sick on the night outings, staying in with Netflix and a cup of ramen noodles...IT’S TIME TO GO HOME!!
5. Your appetite no longer exists
Not only have you grown sick of everything the dining halls have to offer, you’ve grown sick of ALL the take out food nearby. At this point you’re only eating to stay alive..not because something looks delicious.
6. Hearing what your mother made for dinner nearly brings you to tears
As you dreadfully make it through another Binghamton meal, you call your mom to check in. Just your luck, you call during dinner time and you’re forced to listen to a run down of all the amazing food she has prepared. Yep, wipe away your tears...let’s start looking for bus tickets.
7. Getting off campus, even for a little, bring you immense joy
Whether it’s going out for dinner, or a simple run to Walmart, leaving campus makes you feel as though you’re on a mini-vacation. Dreading going back to your small cubicle of a room...you decide to take your time picking out your groceries.
8. Seeing the large green Binghamton sign as you drive into campus makes you cringe:
Say no more.
If you are exhibiting, at least, one of these symptoms, there’s a good chance you’re growing sick of Binghamton. Luckily, there is a simple cure: take a nice trip back home. Whether it’s for a small weekend, or a bit longer, you’ll come back feeling able to take on the Binghamton life...for another few weeks.
