1. Missing out on your social life for practices and meets.

But let's be real. Your life revolved around gymnastics.

2. Spending at least one weekend a month at a competition.

Which meant your whole family spent this weekend at a competition because you made them go.

3. And you spent a week or maybe your whole summer at gymnastics camp.

Going to camp and doing gymnastics, what could be better?

4. Going through a can of hairspray trying to keep your fly-aways down.

Then washing your hair three times to get all of it out.

5. Talking about where the team's going to eat before the meet's even over.

TGI Fridays or Applebee's?

6. Still wearing your countless competition shirts and finding it impossible to get rid of them.

You'll make a quilt out of them someday.

7. And on top of that, trying to find somewhere to store all your old trophies and medals.

Maybe it's time to take them off display.

8. Going through your floor routine when you hear your old music.

Regardless of if you're in public or not.

9. Never looking at chalk the same when teachers used it at school.

And we all know the best conversations happened at the chalk-bowl.

10. You still have your grips and a leotard or two.

Just in case you want to go to open gym someday. If she can do it, you can do it.

11. You used to show off your rips to gross people out.

Boys dig rips, amiright?

12. It was crucial that your scrunchie always matched your leotard.

Gymnastics alone is probably what's keeping scrunchies alive.

13. You miss being really in shape and that six pack you used to have.

And you find it weird working out by yourself now.

14. You were always stronger than most of the kids in your class, even the boys.

You usually won at arm wrestling.

15. There was nothing better than team sleepovers at the gym.

Sleeping on a floor that people walk on barefoot all day, nothing better.

16. When you weren't wearing a shirt from a competition, you were rocking a "gymnast" shirt from Limited Too.

If it said "gymnast", you bought it.

17. “Stick It” will always be one of your favorite movies.

You've only watched 50+ times.

18. But, you were super critical of ABC's "Make It or Break It".

Lyrics in her floor music? That's absurd!

19. Wedgies probably don't bother you anymore.

And you wouldn't dare pick it during your routine.

20. You spent all your time with your teammates and they've become your lifelong friends.

College and boys will never break your bond!

21. And of course you still let each other know when gymnastics is on TV.

If it's not, you're probably watching videos of your competitions together.

22. You still get really defensive when someone says gymnastics and cheerleading are the same thing.

They're just not, okay.

23. Since you could no longer do gymnastics, you became a gymnastics coach instead.

If you love a sport, why not coach it?

24. Handstands are still part of your daily routine.

The world's so much better upside-down.

25. And deep down, you hope your future child will want to do gymnastics.

I'd cry too if my daughter was an olympic gymnast!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
