11 Things Only Your Best Friends Would Understand

Best friends are something very special. Even if you have a significant other, they will never be the same as a best friend.

When things happen with your significant other, your best friend will be there. When you are having trouble with family, your best friend will be there. When you are looking to have some fun or a good laugh, you know your best friend will be right beside you.

When you read this, certain people will come into your mind, and those are the people that you should treasure. They will know all of your deepest secrets, your embarrassing moments and your funniest moments. Here is a list of things that a best friend will share with you:

1. You both have a TV show you watch on Netflix together.  When one of you watches an episode without the other, there will be animosity.

2. Your best friend knows who your person is. Whether it is your significant other or the person you will never get over because you either can’t or don’t want to, your best friend knows about them.

3. They know which situations you “literally can’t.” They can tell by a look on your face or nothing at all, that something annoyed you.

4. When you are texting your crush, they are the one that you go to when you need help on what to say. And most of the time they will give you some weird answer and you will get mad and ask them to, “Take this seriously.”

5. As stupid as it is, they choose which Instagram to post, and they will receive from two to four options. They will always give their honest opinions and pick the best option.

6. You both owe each other money, but figure it will even out eventually. When your bank account is hurting, you know that your girl will buy you your morning Starbucks so you can function through the day.

7. They are the ones that help you piece together last night and remind you of all of the stupid things that you did.  After, you will of course go and get acai bowls and smoothies.

8. You are the only person that they don’t feel awkward talking about their bathroom trips. In fact, they may feel a little too comfortable talking about it.

9. One of your passwords at one time has probably been your best friend’s name. If not, you at least know all of their passwords. Let’s face it, there really isn’t any privacy anymore.

10. You know approximately what time they wake up every morning because you will always receive a text about something completely random. You also know if they are a morning person or not. You know if they are grouchy in the mornings, and if they are you know not to take anything they say in the morning seriously nor get offended by anything they say.

11. You no longer have to ask if you can take your pants off. We all know pants are out of the question and your best friend hates pants.

Your best friend will know all of your best memories, and mostly because they are in all of them. Your worst memories? They know every single one, and know how to help you through them. You know you love your best friend unconditionally and there is nothing you can do or say to change that.

There are certain people in the world that you should cherish, and your best friends are those people. You should cherish the memories that you spend together and be so grateful for them. No matter what boy you have in your life, or another friend that comes into your life, always make time for your best friend because when these things go away, they are the ones that will be there for you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
