6 Lessons To Learn From Dove Chocolate Wrappers
"Anything is good if its made of chocolate."
Jo Brand

The other day I bought some Dove chocolates to munch on during the week. Just when you think a piece of chocolate is enough to help get through your stressful day it turns out that a happy little phrase is also hidden inside the chocolate wrapper. I decided to keep mine because they have great insight.

Give them something to talk about.

A classic celebrity tactic is to do something so shocking that the whole nation is talking about it. I'm not saying that you should go out and do something that will be disapproved of. When you have the chance to dress for success, do it! If you have the chance to make someone’s day, or serve them in any way, do it! There is nothing better than being known for your marvelous fashion sense or for your kind heart.

Take a run on the wild side.

“No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep.”

Rules are rules, but it doesn’t hurt to step outside your comfort zone every once in a while to have a little fun! Not fun as in excessive partying, but fun as in spontaneous road trips or late night food excursions. You’re only in college for four years and you'd better make the most of it!

Get lost on purpose.

Because we have iPhones we rarely get off the right trail. We’ve never had that experience where we misread a map, got lost, and ended up taking a prettier scenic route. I think that it would be fun to just start driving without having a destination. Leave the possibility open to get lost and stumble upon something unknown and spectacular.

Ride with the top down.

There is something freeing about opening all the car windows and blaring the music as loud as you can when you drive. Your hair blows in your face, but you don’t care! Sometimes we need to let go and realize that things are the way that they are. I worry all the time. I don’t think there is a day where I haven’t worried about something. I need to step back, take a breath, and just let go of all my worries and problems.

Happy Un-Birthday.

Birthdays are special, so why should we only celebrate them once a year? A night out celebrating something as simple as friendship or passing a test is much needed after a crazy week of school or work. Giving small gifts to your friends to show them that you’re thankful for their friendship is also a great way to celebrate an “un-birthday.”

Treat Tuesday like Friday.

T.G.I.T.? Who doesn’t love Friday? Friday means the end of the week, which means no school or work for two days. It couldn't get better! We wake up on a Friday knowing that we’re going to have a relaxing or fun weekend. We should wake up on Tuesdays, or every day of the week, with the same attitude! I know that my week would go much smoother if I had a better frame of mind. Treat every day like it's Friday!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
