7 Science Jokes Science Majors Will Appreciate

This one goes out to my fellow chemistry nerds

7 Science Jokes Science Majors Will Appreciate

Science majors love to complain about their workload (I would know because I am guilty of doing this every day of the week). I constantly find myself thinking, "why did I voluntarily decide to put myself through this torture?" No matter how many times I say I hate physics or that I am diene, I continue on life as a science major. If you can relate, this might be so just because it is too late to switch majors or you cannot see yourself doing anything else. Or, you know, you might just be a lover of chemistry jokes and realize no normal human being would be laughing as hard as you do when you stumble upon them. Below some of my favorite jokes can be found.

1.

To clarify, a photon is an electromagnetic particle or a particle of light energy. Photons are always in motion and have no mass. Essentially this joke is funny for more than one reason.

2.

I am sure most people, science major or not, have heard the phrase "like dissolves like" in a science class. All I have to say is that I would hate to be a polar bear trying to swim in water.

3.

Carbon is literally in everything. But did you know that when carbon is put under high pressure it actually makes diamonds? Well, if you did not, now you do. Think about that the next time you have five papers, a presentation, three quizzes, and two exams in one week. You might just become a diamond yourself.

4.

Well, they tried. A+ for effort.

5.

Who knew Lady Gaga was inspired by the periodic table (even though the chemical symbol of arsenic is As, the sound "Ah" certainly fits the chemical. The element molybdenum actually has the chemical symbol, Mo, not Ma. I guess we can let these mistakes slip)? I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who likes to make words or phrases from chemical symbols. It is a relief to know that if Lady Gaga can produce a hit single using science that I too can make it big in the world.

6.

Two of my favorite things are chemistry and superheroes. If the two are combined, it is as if all the stars in the sky have perfectly aligned.

7.

See? Chemistry IS funny. You just need to get past the tears.

Maybe it is just my inner nerd, but on my worst days I know that a cheesy chemistry joke will make my day ten times better. I hope even just one of these jokes made you smile because it takes less energy and muscles to smile than frown. Science.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
