11 Thoughts At The Airport

Your flights always end the same way.

Anyone that has spent even a little time in an airport knows that there are always a million thoughts running through your head. Especially with spring break upon us, everyone is heading home or going on vacation into the warmer weather. From check in to boarding, each time you fly is a different experience. However, one thing that always stays the same is some of the thoughts you have while you are there. From food to people to prices, here are 11 thoughts you are guaranteed to have during your next flight.

1. “Alright, this isn’t so bad.”

Of course, you haven’t even made it to security yet, so you can’t see the swarm of people on the other side of the check in counters.

2. “Why is this line so long?”

You, thinking it would be smart, bought a Thursday night ticket. After all, who’s going to fly on a Thursday night? Apparently everybody and their mother.

3. “Did I leave ___ in my bag?”

As you get closer and closer to security, you start to worry about all the items that you aren’t allowed to bring on the plane. Of course you double checked, but there is nothing worse than forgetting to take out that pair of scissors from your bag.

4. “Please don’t beep. Please don’t beep. Please don’t beep.”

You aren’t wearing anything metal, and even if you do beep they will probably just do another scan, but you’ve seen enough cop shows to know that it could also end with you in an interrogation room.

5. “Of course my gate is the one that’s farthest away.”

Why did you have to be put in gate C35. What about A or B? What happened to 1-33? Are they seriously all being used? On a Thursday night?

6. “Did I forget my ___ at home?”

Now, as you are sitting by your gate, waiting for your plane, you have nothing better to do than sit and worry about everything you could have forgotten.

7. “Why is everything so expensive?”

Want a bottle of water for $6? Or how about a sandwich for $20? You really should have brought snacks and an empty water bottle.

8. “Do I have time to go to the bathroom?”

It’s getting closer to your boarding time and you keep contemplating whether or not you have time to run to the bathroom which happens to be at the end of the hallway.

9. “I hope they aren’t seated next to me.”

Whether it’s the person who just whipped out an egg salad sandwich, or the parent with the screaming child, you are always going to encounter someone you don’t want to sit next to.

10. “What do they mean limited overhead storage?”

You probably didn’t pay extra for the Premium Gold Star Membership which means you are going to board last. Unfortunately it also means that getting the overhead storage will be a fight to the death.

11. “Is that my zone? Is that my zone? That’s my zone!”

How many zones could there possibly be? And how is it that yours is always last? There is nothing quite as reassuring as when your zone is finally called.

Despite all your struggles when it comes to flying, it tends to be a fun experience. Airports are one of the best places to sit and do some people watching, or even get to know some of the other passengers. No matter what thoughts are passing through your head, try to make the best of your situation, and have a safe flight.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
