Dear Best Friends from Home,
It's been a long year at school, and it feels like forever since I last saw you. I know I haven't spent as much time with you all as usual due to my crazy work schedule and yours, but I know it will always work out. I love you and I want to thank you.
Thank you. Thank you for loving and accepting me through my awkward and ugly duckling years. Thank you for embracing my weirdness and keeping all my embarrassing moments a secret between us. Thank you for being there through the family drama. Thank you for letting your family be my family. Thank you for being with me as I tried to find myself and helping me do that. Thank you for being there as I freaked about applying for colleges, the SATS, and now as I stress about the future and graduate school.
Thank you for the phone dates, Skype conversations, and random texts when I've needed them most. Going off that, thank you for always picking up with me right where we've left off even after weeks or months of not talking. And, now that we're in college...thank you for allowing me to grow and change with you and allowing me to grow and change without you as well.
Thank you for continuing to be my best friends even after finding out all my flaws and still staying by my side. Thank you for knowing me more than I know myself and getting all my weird quirks.
Thank you my best friends for all the memories I'll never forget: my first drink, my first dance, my first time on stage, all the movie nights, the iHop runs, the dinner dates, and all the times we sang with each other in the car.
Thank you for being my confidantes, truth givers and hug givers when I need it most. Thank you for always going out of your way for me.
But, most of all? Thank you you for showing me what it means to love someone unconditionally, because through all my mistakes, tears, and wild rants you've never given up on me. Thank you for all the moments I can never repay you for.
