The new season of everyone's favorite show, "American Horror Story," premiered this past week. If you've never seen AHS I highly recommend it. First of all because the acting and storyline are superb, but also because you don't need to binge watch the other seasons to understand the current one. (Although, they all are available on Netflix and I totally encourage binge watching.) But every season takes place in a new, creepy location with some of the same actors, but different characters, theme, soundtrack, and plot. Thus far AHS has covered a haunted house, an insane asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, and currently a hotel. Lady Gaga is already slaying me, and I can't wait to see the rest of this season, but I can't help but think the masterminds behind AHS are going to run out ideas. So here is a list of some suggestions for the next few seasons (*hint*hint*nudge*nudge*).
1. Prison
Prison is totally creepy. Philadelphia's most haunted place is Eastern State Penitentiary. Alcatraz gives haunted night tours. Jail is scary for two reasons: first, it holds the worst criminals, and secondly, because of the treatment of these people. This may become a little similar to Asylum, but I'm sure the AHS geniuses could make it work.
2. Boarding School
Now this one might hit a little close to home because college is a lot like boarding schools, but everyone knows the more realistic the more terrifying. And we all know the goody-two-shoe prep kids are the freakiest. And lets be real ,the Halloween episode of "Zoey 101" was one of the most terrifying moments of my childhood.
3. Ship
Titanic without the sinking is scary. The open ocean. The unknown. A killer aboard and no escape. And this could be set today on a cruise line or a blast to past where people would pack up their whole lives to go across the Atlantic.
4. Church
Preferably with a graveyard right next to it. Making a place where people seek comfort creepy is an audience grabber for sure.
5. Museum
Again, taking inspiration from my current city of residence; one of the creepiest places in Philadelphia is the Mutter museum. Home to ancient medical equipment and medical oddities, it gives even the people with the strongest stomach the hey jeebies. How I see AHS taking this is haunted exhibits and Night at the Museum with an R rating.
6. Summer Camp
Let's all face it: kids are the creepiest things on this planet. The second creepiest thing in the world is the woods. Combine the two and it's a match made in horror story heaven. And those ghost stories around the camp fire could come true....
So dear producers of AHS if you like any of these ideas please let me know and we can talk about a Hollywood deal.
