11 Truths All Roger Williams Students Know To Be True
Caitlyn Hansbury

As winter break is coming to an end I find myself itching to be back on the beautiful campus that I call my home away from home. Here is a list of things I compiled that all, if not most, Roger Williams students know to be true.

1. The beauty that is the Mount Hope Bridge

I mean do you really go to Roger if you don't post a bridge pic to your Instagram at one point or another?

2. The grass is always shorter on the Roger side

On any given day you can find the grass of the library quad being mowed, regardless of the weather.

3. The wonderful staff of Upper Commons

Alice from Commons can and will never fail to put a smile on your face

4. Chicken Finger and Mac and Cheese

Hands down the best day in Commons. Need I say more?

5. The struggle that is Willow Hill

Every Willow resident knows and fully understands the daily struggle of multiple trips up and down the hill.

6. The beauty that belongs to the sunsets

With the bay and the bridge as a backdrop, the sunset is always beautiful and a sight to see.

7. RWU = Rainy Windy University

It sometimes feels like the rain and the wind will never stop. with the never ending bad weather, it's definitely a bad hair day every day.

8. Pizza from Lower

The pizza at Lower definitely tastes way better than the pizza in Upper. It's never a wasted trip and besides, where else can you get fresh pizza at midnight?

9. Get involved

From the moment a new student sets foot on campus you will constantly be told to get involved in some way shape or form. Luckily, Roger offers many clubs and organizations to choose from that can satisfy anyone's interests.

10. The excitement of seeing a campus cat

It took me a solid month and a half on campus before I saw my first campus cat, but now that I've seen one, they're everywhere. Although I am not a cat person in the slightest, I still find joy and get a little bit excited every time I see one of those furry little guys hanging out around MNS.

11. Once a hawk, always a hawk

With such a tight-knit community, you can always count on a fellow hawk to help you out in a time of need. No matter what, you know that Roger is a place for you to call home. Hawks fly together.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Disney Princesses

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
