Disney Investments: Merchandise For Fans

Disney Investments: Merchandise For Fans

I've grown up worshiping the mouse. I can walk around each park backwards with my eyes closed and know exactly where to go. I cry during parades, fireworks, and any entertainment show. I've seen every movie (some a whole lot more than others), I can show you hidden Mickey's and I can school you in Disney Trivia.

Disney is a huge part of my life, and I would not change that for the world. I have had the great opportunity to purchase an annual pass, and using it has really showed me that there are people like me, some who are DisneyFanatics more than me! I've found out that people can become seriously invested in Disney. Purchasing objects, using social media, or just visiting the parks are some of the many ways to become even more of a Disney Fan. If you are looking to boost your merchandise or find other possibilities about fun park adventures, keep on reading!

Tsum Tsum's

Originally a Japanese creation, these cute little friends made their way to the United States in 2014, and-- my, have things taken off. Tsum Tsum comes from the Japanese word tsumuwhich translates as "to stack." The plush characters are representations of Disney Characters, they come in three sizes, the most popular being the mini plush. Every Tuesday of a new month the company releases a new collection, thus creating Tsum Tsum Tuesday. These cuties sell out in minutes, so if you are hoping to get some of the little guys, act fast! People around the world are collecting all of them, their collection is growing so fast, and people are really spending their money on them! Clothing articles and commemorative pins have also been created about the Tsum Tsums!
For more information about them be sure to check out this website, and this website.

Social Media

Do you use Snapchat? Answer is probably yes, well that cool GeoTag Filter applies to Disney too! When you are at the parks you can send pictures of you in Fantasyland, Adventureland, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and literally everywhere on Disney property. (Just not Disney Springs...yet?) These filters have really helped boost the magic, so with your phones you can take pictures with fun filters!

In addition to the Snapchat filters Facebook has jumped the gun on Disney Groups. There is a numerous amount of groups on Facebook that people are able to join and just share their love for Disney. It's a good place to learn new things about the parks or just see how other people use their time at the Wonderful World of Disney.

DisneyBounding

Probably one of my favorite things about today's world and Disney is the term and action of DisneyBounding. A DisneyBound is when a normal person wears normal people clothes that look similar to a character or attraction. This idea was created by the super awesome Leslie Kay, and she started a revolution of how people go to Disney. "Dressing Up" like your favorite character, but still being comfortable in what clothes you are wearing is awesome. Today, people DisneyBound when they aren't even in the parks, a lot of people Bound while going to work. It's a simple way to wear awesome clothes and still be in the Disney spirit.

Ticketed Events

You may be asking yourself, more money spent on a Disney Ticket?! Well yes, but no at the same time. Disney has made it so you and a set amount of people can enjoy Halloween and the Christmas Holiday Season with incredibly FUN Ticketed Events. These events only have a specific amount of tickets, so there's not too many people. It's a great way to spend your holidays because you can see exclusive shows, fireworks, and meet characters in cute costumes or characters that you would not normally be able to meet. So far the only events are Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (you get to go trick-or-treating and dress up around the Magic Kingdom) and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (you also get fun treats and get to see it snow on Main Street). These events are super magical, and the tickets do sell out so buy yours quickly!

Vinylmations

MY FAVORITE. These guys are collectable that people can purchase from the parks or stores representing a series. People purchase a box, with a chance of getting one normally 8, 12, or 24 options. Normally it's about 8. Inside the box is one of the 8 characters in the series. These characters are shaped like Mickey Mouse, but the designs represent another character or ride. One of the most amazing things about Vinylmations is that ITS A MYSTERY! You do not know which one you are getting until you open the box! Another fun thing about them, is there is always a mystery "chaser" you can get. The chaser is rare, and they are SO much fun to find. I will never forget getting my first chaser.

Pin Trading

This has been one of the oldest trends at any Disney park. You can purchase pins from a multitude of places, where the pins range from movies, to characters, to rides and literally anything Disney. After you have a lot of pins on your lanyard you are welcome to go around and trade with Cast Members! Sometimes there are other Disney Guests who are willing to trade, but mostly it's just a cast member thing. Pins have come a long way from their beginning, special ticketed people like Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members are able to purchase special Pins!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
