7 Reasons Why Miracle is the Best Sports Movie Ever

I love Remember the Titans and We Are Marshall, they are two of my favorite sports movie. But there is one movie that stands above all the rest: Miracle. The 2004 film about the 1980 Olympic hockey team and their defeat over the Soviet Union. This game is often referred to as the “Miracle on Ice” because no one believed the U.S.A. could beat the Soviets.

An amazing team, coached by the legendary Herb Brooks, worked hard for eight months before the Olympics to clinch the gold medal. This historic movie captures one of the greatest moments in sports history and all that lead up to it. This one is for all those who love, hockey, the US, and the 1980 Men's Olympic Hockey Team.

1. You respected those guys so much for all those 'Herbies,' especially after the game in Norway.

2. Following those 'Herbies'... I don't think it needs an explanation, it's just so empowering.

3. Al Michaels original commentary for the last 10 seconds of the game was used, including the famous line, "Do you believe in Miracles?" Which, of course, gave everyone chills.

4. "Great moments are born from great opportunity..." This speech will allow you to conquer the impossible.

5. You felt so bad for Ralph Cox, even if he only was playing college hockey for the girls!

6. The opening credits get you so excited and then this comes together...

7. "The name on the front is a hell of a lot more important than the one on the back."

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
